WELCOME TO "ALABAMA TRAILS"

"Those Old Cotton Fields Back Home"

a part of Genealogy Trails

Our goal at Genealogy Trails is to help you track your ancestors through time by transcribing genealogical and historical data and placing it online for the free use of all researchers. This is a continuation of our original Genealogy Trails Illinois Project and we are excited about this opportunity to expand into other states. We welcome your feedback and comments, and of course, your data contributions. If you have data that you would like to have posted on this website, please contact us.

We're looking for folks who share our dedication to putting data online and are interested in helping this project be as successful as our Illinois websites are. If you are interested in joining our group and becoming a state or county host, view our
Volunteer Page for further information.

If you would like to be kept informed of our state and county website updates, subscribe to our
mailing lists

If you have information that you'd like to share about any town, family, county or subject, please send it to us and we'll make sure it gets posted to the right county. We are looking for Biographies, Obituaries, Newspaper Stories, History and Family stories - the things you used to put together your family trees (rather than the trees themselves :-)
Along the way we will acquire Births, Deaths, Marriages, Cemetery Listings and everything in between - things that will be of importance to the Alabama Researcher.

We want to welcome you and hope you will join us as we travel the Trails of our Ancestors through Alabama.
The photo at the top right is our host Christine Walters' daughter, many years ago, and she really thought she was "choppin cotton".
