Mr. EDWARD CHARLES DAY, JR.
DAY, Mr. Edward Charles, Jr., aged 41, of 1923 28th Ave., N., Hueytown. Passed away Saturday A. M. at a local hospital. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Georgia Anne Day; 2 daughters, Joyce Carol and Mary Ann Day; 2 sons, Patrick Lawrence and Michael I. A. Day; mother, Mrs. Mary Day; brother Frank J. Day; 2 sisters, Mrs. Margaret Piekert, Mrs. Anne Coleman. Funeral services Monday 9 A.M. from Brown-Service Bessemer Chapel and 9:30 from St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Father John Slack officiating. Internment Highland Memorial Gardens. Rosary to be said at 8 P.M. Sunday, Brown-Service Bessemer Chapel. Brown-Service Bessemer directing.

Mrs. MARY ELIZABETH HILMER DAY
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hilmer Day., 87 of 2017 Avenue G, Ensley, died yesterday. Funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, burial in Oakland, Angwin's directing. Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. today. at Angwin's. She was a member of the church and the Pratt City Eagles auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Piekert, Ensley, and Mrs. Ann Coleman, Birmingham; and a sister, Mrs. Ann McConachie, San Jose, Calif.

DOUGLAS J. EARLY, SR.
Graveside service for Douglas J. Early, Sr., 88, of 3917 Shannon Lane, Mountainbrook, who died Tuesday, will be at 11 a.m. today at Elmwood, Valley Chapel directing. He was retired district sales manager for U. S. Steel with 53 years service. He was a World War I veteran and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Birmingham Country Club. Survivors include a son, Douglas J. Early, Jr., Atlanta; a daugher, Mrs. Claire E. Love, Birmingham; and a sister, Mrs. Eva Lyons, Birmingham. The family suggests memorials be to the Trinity United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.

Engineer is Killed by Fall in Water
Sam Ellis Fatally Burned While at Work
Scalds received when he fell into a tank of boiling water while at work yesterday were fatal to Sam Ellis, 40, of 2818 Avenue D, engineer at the Ensley power house of the Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railroad Co.
Mr. Ellis was pronounced dead upon arrival at T. C. I. emergency hospital where he had been taken by fellow workmen who removed him from the tank.
Surviving are his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William J. Ellis, Wylam; a daughter, Miss Virginia Ellis; a son, William Ellis; two sisters, Miss Eunice Ellis and Mrs. Charles Ford; and four brothers, Harry, William, Andrew and George Ellis.

JACK FIORELLA, SR.
Jack Fiorella, Sr., 82, of 1924 Fifth St. South, who died Friday was a native of Italy and had lived in Birmingham 66 years. He was a retired Barber. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a fourth degree Knight, and was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Roman Club. Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Sunday at John's Ridouts and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church with burial at Elmwood. Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Joe Fiorella, Sam Fiorella and Jack Fiorella, Jr. and four daughters, Mrs. Jack Rouss, Sr., Mrs. Louis Musso, Mrs. Joe Torlamassi and Mrs. Bryan Henshaw, all of Birmingham.

Mrs. PAULINE BRAY FLETCHER
Funeral for Mrs. Pauline Bray Fletcher, who worked as a registered nurse in Birmingham for more than half a century, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Thirgood CME Church with burial at Woodlawn Cemtery. Poole Northside directing.
