ALABAMA TRAILS
Welcome to LAUDERDALE COUNTY
Lauderdale County Alabama Created 6 February 1818 From Cherokee & Chickasaw Cession

Hi everyone -- Just came by to say "hello". I am Christine Walters , your county co-ordinator. In the days, weeks, months, years ... I'll be doing the best I can to create a website that you will find helpful, useful, meaningful and always interesting, as you trace your ancestors. If your folks left a footprint as they traveled to find the promised land, then we'll do what we can to help you find them. I just live down the road from all of you, in Lexington TN. I wonder all around west Tennesse, south Alabama and Mississippi -- I've even been known to mess around Georgia at times. I was born in Missouri, grew up in Illinois and now I'm retired in TN. I am sorry that I can't do any individual research for you, I just really don't have the time or the resources to accomplish that, but what I can do is try to provide the data and history to help you along the way. At the same time I hope you will share what information you have that we might all be able to help each other.

We are in need of Alabama County Co-Ordinators Its challenging, its very rewarding, and its a great group of people to work with. If interested in being a County Host please check out our Volunteer Page and let me know

You can be a great deal of help with this website. I'm looking for all the regular information such as Biographies, Deaths, Births and Marriages. There will be the native Indian history of the area that will be of interest to a lot of people. Of great importance would be the Pioneer Families of Lauderdale Alabama. Tell me about your family as they traveled the land and found the roots they wanted to plant here in Lauderdale COunty. There is a special section on this website for the pioneer folks who paved the way and made the county what it is today. This is the type of information that will set this County Web Page apart from all the others.
