Francis P. Lowe
Former Mattydale resident Francis Patrick ''Fritz'' Lowe, 75, died
Monday in Anchorage, Alaska. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at
Palmer Lodge 1842, BPOE, in Alaska.
A native of Mattydale, Mr. Lowe moved to Alaska in 1949 after serving
in the merchant marine. He settled in Palmer, Alaska, where he built
his own home in the wilderness. Mr. Lowe was a cook at oil drilling
camps and several restaurants in Alaska. In later years he lived in
Anchorage. Mr. Lowe was a member of Lodge 1842, BPOE.
Surviving are his wife, Jean; three sons, Michael Tuntland of Spanaway,
Wash., Kirby Tuntland of Eugene, Ore., and Clinton N. Thomas of
Wasilla, Alaska; two daughters, Clyda Ponce of Bakersfield, Calif., and
Mary Ann Nunley of Wasilla; a sister, Alice Nichols of Elbridge; 23
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews. Kehl's Mortuary, Palmer, has charge of arrangements.
