William G. Power
Services for William G. Power, 33, will be held in Arlington, Wash., at a later date. Mr. Power died Sept. 16 at Point Mackenzie as the result of a boating accident.

Born March 17, 1953, in Washington, he had lived in Alaska the past two years.

He leaves his parents, Paul Sr. and Dorothy, of Arlington; his daughter, Josie, of Washington; his brothers, Paul and Robert, both of Washington; and his stepsister, Sharon Russell, of Florida. Arrangments by Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.

Hester Pumphrey
Memorial services for longtime hairdresser Hester Pumphrey, 70, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kehl's Palmer Mortuary. Ms. Pumphrey died Nov. 17 at her Big Lake residence.

Born Nov. 8, 1916, in Leesville, Texas, she had lived in Alaska the past 33 years, and had been a hairdresser for 45 years. She was a member of the Quota Club of Anchorage, National Hairdressers Association, Big Lake Chamber of Commerce, Alaska Motor Mushers, and Alaska State Board of Hairdressers.

She leaves her 23-year companion, Jack Helms, of Big Lake; her daughter, Nona Ray Rohdus of Wasilla; her son, Keith Kutscher of Fredericksburg, Texas; her sisters, Hazel Hollinsworth and Hattie Elbel, both of San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. Memorials may be directed to the Big Lake Lioness Library Fund.
