19, 1888 Mohave County Miner The Inquest of Wm Newton The coroner's Jury in the inquest on the death of Wm. Newton, which was held on Saturday last returned the following verdict: "We the jury empaneled to inquire into the cause of the death of William Newton do find as folllows: That his name was William Newton, his age about 40 years. That he came to his death on the morning of May 11, 1888, by the reason of injuries received on the 10th of May, 1888 from falling from a freight car and being run over, on the Atlantic & Pacific Railroad, at a point about four miles east of Peach Springs in Mohave County. Jas. W. Michael W.V. Austin Jno. S. Koler Wm. Richards H.C. Thompson H.B. Cox Thomas Steen. The remains of the unfortunate man was interred in the cemetery south of town Friday Evening. Ed. William said the deceased had no relatives or friends. |
