We notice a story going the rounds of the Arizona press that Tubac was
at one time the capitol of Arizona. This is a mistake. Tubac never was
the seat of government of Arizona at any time. Prescott was the
first capitol; then Tucson; then Preseott again; and then the seat of
government was removed to Phoenix.

At Tubac on the day of election, John Strode shot and killed John buck;
they are both well known in tucson. We have no particulars, but the
trouble was some dispute about the merits of their respective
candidates. Strode will be brought to town today.

The man Strode, who shot and killed Buck at Tubac on election day, had
an examination before Justice Neugass, and has been held to bail in the
sum of $2,500. Having obtained bail he in now at liberty.
At the examination the evidence appeared all in favor of Buck, but
since that time the case begins to take a new phaze, not so much in
favor of the murderer.

John Strode, who killed Buck on election day, at Tubac, and had
an examanation and was held to bail in the sum of $2500, which bail he
secured and was released from custody, was returned to jail a few days
since, the bail being considered insufficient.
