ASHLEY COUNTY is located in the southeastern section of the state of Arkansas. It was organized in 1848 and was named for United States Senator Chester Ashley. The county seat is at Hamburg.

Genealogy Trails is a new group started in Illinois in 2000 and expanded in 2006 to all fifty states. If you love history and genealogy like the dedicated volunteers that put the Illinois Genealogy Trail together and you want to be a part of Arkansas Genealogy Trails, you can volunteer by contacting Nancy after reading our volunteer page.
