FOUNTAIN
HILL--
MARY
HOLLAND DEAL, 94, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000. She was
the widow of Jesse J. Deal. They lived in Fountain Hill until recent
years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fountain Hill and a
homemaker. Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by her
parents, A.B. and Minnie Holland; two brothers, Joel Holland and Buren
Holland; and one sister, Lorene Sims.
Survivors include one son, Conrad Deal of Warren; three daughters,
Frances Cleveland of Maumelle, Jo Ann Phillips and Jean Kilcrease of
Crossett; two sisters, Clyda Fay Welsh of Cherry Log, GA, and Madge
King of Crossett; two brothers, Pierson Holland of Lucas, Ohio, and
Charles F. Holland of Oceanside, CA; nine grandchildren and fourteen
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. at the First
Baptist Church in Fountain Hill with the Reverend Bill Elton
officiating. Burial followed at Flat Creek Cemetery under the direction
of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett. Pallbearers were grandsons and
great-grandsons Mark Deal, Terry Phillips, Kevin Kilcrease, Kent
Kilcrease, David Cleveland, John Denton and Neal Phillips.

PARKDALE--
MRS.
SYBLE DENNIS, 93, of Parkdale died Friday, February 25,
2000, at the Beverly Health Care Center in Lake Village. Mrs. Dennis
was a native of Higdon, a resident of Parkdale since 1939 and a
homemaker. She was a member of the Parkdale Baptist Church and she was
preceded in death by her husband, Frank Dennis, in 1993 and her
parents, Alfred & Cora Chilton Tackett.
Survivors include by two nieces, Kaye Burcham of Brandon, MS, and Clair
Criswell of Greenville, MS, and a great-niece, Leasa Watkins of
Southaven, MS.
Grave-side funeral services and interment were 2 p.m., Sunday, February
27, in the Parkdale Cemetery with Rev. Harry Noble officiating. Funeral
arrangements were by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. --Ashley

ANN
UZZELLE deYAMPERT, 71, of Greenville, died Saturday,
October 1, 2005, at her home. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday, October 4 at St. James Episcopal Church in Greenville with
burial at 5 p.m. at the Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot, AR. Mrs. deYampert
was born in Washington County, MS the daughter of George Hampton and
Mildred Cayce Uzzelle. She graduated from Miss Hutchinson's School in
Memphis, TN and then attended Randolph Macon Women's College in
Lynchburg, VA and she graduated from the University of Mississippi in
Oxford, MS where she was in the Chi Omega Sorority. In 1967 she married
William B. deYampert and they made their home in Ashley County, AR. She
had charter memberships with Wilmot United Methodist Church in Wilmot,
AR and St. James Episcopal Church in Greenville, MS. She is survived by
her husband, William B. deYampert of Wilmot, AR; five children, Richard
Stock, Jr. and wife Lisa of Wilmot, AR; Cayce Stock and wife Teresa of
Wilmot, Sloan Stock Favi and husband Ted of Memphis, Vesta deYampert
Fort and husband Arthur of Fairhope, AL, and William B. deYampert, III
of New York City, NY; a brother, Hamp Uzzelle and wife Kathie of
Mobile, AL; and seven grandchildren, Jane Ann Colvin Stock, Courtney
Stock, Mary Ceyce Eskrigge, Brock Eskrigge, Meri Taylor Favi, Abigail
Fort, and Arthur Fort. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 4, from 1-2
p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church. --Commercial Appeal, The

HAMBURG, AR--
MRS.
HELEN HOOKER DUNN, 91, of Hamburg died Wednesday, February
2, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A native of DeWitt who
had lived in Hamburg since 1949, she was a homemaker and a member of
the Corinth Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Arthur Dunn; her parents, Robert Carl and Jennie Etta Vawters Hooker; a
brother, Robert Hooker; and a sister, Ollie Nora Dempsy.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews, two step-grandchildren, Lois
McDaniel and Everett McCullough of Hamburg; two
step-great-grandchildren, Tammy Penervelle of Ashland City, TN, and
Martin Pennington of Bastrop; and three step-great-great-grandchildren,
Jackie and Joe Coleman of Ashland City, and Martin Pennington, Jr., of
Bastrop.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 5, in the chapel of
Jones Funeral Home in Hamburg with Revs. Travis Roberts and Joey
Meredith officiating. Pallbearers were Mike Chain, Jimmy and Jim
Hemphill, Thomas Coker, Gary Massey and Raymond Garner. Burial followed

CROSSETT, ARK--
BERNICE HAISTY DURHAM, 81, of Crossett died Monday, January 10, 2000, at the
Ashley County Medical Center. Born September 12, 1918, in Monticello to William
Preston and Ecil Wells Haisty, she was the window of Robert Walter Durham. She
was also preceded in death by a sister, LaBonne Willene (Deanie) Haisty
Jordan.
Survivors are three brothers, Wesley Kenneth Haisty of Lebanon, MO,
Carroll Wood Haisty of Crossett and John Stanley Haisty of Springdale; and a
sister, Dorohy Nell Haisty Byrne of Franklin, MA.
Grave-side services are
planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, at Pinewood Memorial Park, directed by
Jones Funeral Home of Crossett. There will be no public visitation. --Ashley County Ledger,
