ARK--
MAUDE
SENN FERRELL, 87, of Warren died Friday, February 18,
2000, at the Lakeside Rehabilitation Center in Lake Village. Born
September 16, 1912, at Sumpter to the late Walter and Nicie Pope Senn,
she was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Fellowship Church.
She married Bernard B. Ferrell April 13, 1940, and he died September
11, 1984. She was also preceded in death by a son, Walter Ferrell; a
stepmother, Alice Senn; a brother, Harmon Senn; and a sister, Margie
Willis.
Survivors are two sons, Louis Ferrell of Fussa, Japan, and Phillip
Ferrell of Mountain View; two daughters, Patricia South of Chaney, WA,
and Vickie Barrett of Portland; a brother, George Senn of Jersey; seven
sisters, Eva Lou Ferrell, Carmen Campbell, Athleen Hines and Sarah
Carter of Warren, Una Miller of Pine Bluff, Mary Frisby of Fort Smith
and Linnie Mae Connor of Bryan, TX; 13 grandchildren and 14
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 21, in the
Christian Fellowship Church in Warren with Rev. Wayman Mann
officiating. Lawana Mann was pianist. Pallbearers were Allen Ferrell,
Billy Massey, Wayne Steadman, James Temple, Don Stuard and James E.
Smith.
Burial followed services at the Smyrna Cemetery, directed by Frazer's
Funeral Home of Warren.

Tampa, FL--
JOHN
EDWARD FOSTER,
70, of Tampa, died Sunday (June 7, 1987). Born in Ashley County, Ark.,
he had lived in Tampa the past 25 years and was a retired automobile
mechanic. He was an honorary member of the American Legion, Dale Mabry
Post #139. Survivors include his wife, Francis; a son, Charles,
Vicksburg, Miss.; four daughters, Shirley McKinzey, Tampa, Mary Dukes,
Lake Providence, La., Emily Byers, Orlando, and Ann Bing, Lake Village,
Ark.; one brother, Adolph Foster, Napa, Calif.; one sister, Evelyn
Cossey, Parkdale, Ark.; seven grandchildren, and two
great-grandchildren. Curry & Son Funeral Home, Tampa.

HAMBURG, ARK--
MR. MORRELL FRED FOSTER, 87, of Hamburg died Thursday, December 30, 1999, at the
Beverly Health Care Center in Hamburg. A native and life-long resident of Ashley
County and the Mount Pleasant community outside Hamburg, he was a retired farmer
and worked as a compliance manager for the United States Department of
Agriculture's Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for over 20
years. He was a life-long member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and served
as a deacon for over 50 years, and he served as a member of the Portland School
Board for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Minnie Dew
Foster in 1953 and Elizabeth Toler Foster in 1983; a son, Guy Thomas Foster, in
1965; two grandsons, Tommy Foster in 1992 and Jimmy Foster in 1979; his parents,
Jess and Jenny White Foster; three brothers, Clem, Guy and Clifton Foster; and
two sisters, Essie Perkins and Clara Bell Foster.
Survivors include three
sons, Howard Foster of Hamburg, Bobby Foster of Wilmot and Joel F. Foster of
Pine Bluff; a brother, Harold Edward Foster of Maplevale; two sisters, Willie
Lee Lawrence of Hamburg and Cynthia Mae Hollis Swayze of Fountain Hill; nine
grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and four
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 2,
in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Revs. Bobby Biggers and B.
K. Harris officiating. Pallbearers were Jeff, Johnny, Joe and William Foster,
Jimmy and Ben Srell. Honorary pallbearers were Henry Austin, E. W. and Franklin
Ricks, Keith and Glenn Ladd, Gregg Grantham, Booster Burns and Houston Austin.
Burial followed services at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, directed by Jones

HAMBURG, AR--
MR.
CHARLES H. FRANKLIN, 57, of Hamburg died Friday, February
25, 2000, at his residence. He was a native of Amity and a resident of
Hamburg since 1966. He received his bachelor's degree from the Arkansas
State University in Jonesboro and his master's degree from the
University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a member of the First
Baptist Church in Hamburg and taught vocational agriculture at Hamburg
High School for 34 years until retiring in January. He was a member of
the American Agriculture Teachers Association, past president and vice
president of the Arkansas Agriculture Teachers Association and a
recipient of the Arkansas Vocational Agriculture Teacher of the Year
award. He was a member and sponsor of the Future Farmers of America
since 1956. He was the founding sponsor for the Project Pals mentoring
program in Arkansas. He was the recipient of the Hamburg Area Chamber
of Commerce Man of the Year award for 1999. He was the bus driver,
trainer and statistician for the Hamburg Athletic Department for most
of his career in Hamburg as well as a hunter safety instructor for many
years. Mr. Franklin was instrumental in starting the Dixie Baseball
Program in Hamburg, and he was a member of the Hamburg Baseball
Commission and the Hamburg Parks and Recreation Commission. He was a
district commissioner for the Dixie Youth Baseball, and he was
instrumental in starting the girls softball program in Hamburg where
there is a girls softball field named in his honor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Jessie
Chancellor Franklin; three brothers, Joe, Roland & Jimmy
Franklin; and a sister, Nancy Caldonia Franklin. He is survived by his
wife, Mary Alice Pendergrass Franklin; a son, Ted Lee Franklin and his
wife, Alicia; a daughter, Kathy Ann Franklin and her friend, Tuan Anh
Tran and a granddaughter, Rhiannon Franklin, all of Hamburg; a brother,
Lloyd Franklin of Houston, TX; four sisters, Alice Price of Mt. Ida,
and Louise Franklin, Brinda Franklin and Linda Watts all of Roseboro
and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 26, at the First
Baptist Church in Hamburg with Dr. Bobby Pennington and Rev. Klois
Hargis officiating. Pallbearers were Richie Emory, Jack McDonald, Marty
Martin, Bob Davis, Johnny McMurry, Tommy Hollis, Todd Callaway and
Teddy Hickman. Honorary pallbearers were Max Dyson, Shawn Higginbotham,
Wardell Washington and the Hamburg High School coaching staff.
Interment followed services at the Hamburg Cemetery under the direction
of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.

CROSSETT, ARK--
MRS. PEARLINE FRANKLIN, 63, of Crossett died Wednesday, January 12, 2000, at the
Jefferson Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mrs. Franklin was a native of Ashley
County, a lifelong resident of Crossett, a homemaker and a member of Living
Testament Church of God in Christ. . She was preceded in death by her husband,
Willie Franklin; one son, Gary D. Bankston; her parents, Mose and Ada Cason
Goree; one brother, Richard Cason; and three sisters: Evora Colbert, Rhoda B.
Hayes and Evonne Rowe.
She is survived by two sons, Lawrence Bankston Jr. of
Crossett and Ricky Franklin of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Robert Cason of
Houston, TX and John L. Cason of Oakland, OH; two sisters, Cornelius Simmons of
Oakland, CA and Florene Franklin of Crossett; and three
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 17, at 11 a.m. at
the Living Testament Church of God in Christ with Rev. Nolan Phillips
officiating. Pallbearers were Levell Stanley Jr., Robert Stanley, Johnny
Stanley, Glenn Stanley, Ray Stanley and Doyal Miller. Interment was at the
Nimmons Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.

MONTROSE--
MRS.
AMANDA JO FULLER, 92, of Montrose, died Sunday, March 5,
2000, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. Mrs. Fuller was
a native of Ashley County; a resident of Boydell and Montrose for most
of her life, a homemaker, a member of the Boydell Baptist Church. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Q. A. Fuller in 1982, her
parents, David Benjamin & Amanda Miles Hollis Reynolds, a
brother and a sister.
Survivors include three sons, Leon, John and Dewayne Fuller all of
Houston, TX; three daughters, Zada Warren of Houston, TX, Nora Bawcom
of Parkdale and Bobbie Higginbotham of Hamburg; a brother, Dave
Bradford Reynolds of Jerome; a sister, Verdell Matthews of Lake
Village; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, in the
Montrose Baptist Church with Revs. Larry Donaldson & E. W.
Ricks officiating. Pallbearers were to be Johnny & Gary
Matthews, Glenn Reynolds, Ricky Russell, Henry Greer and Dale Bates.
Interment was to follow services at the Trafalgar Cemetery, directed by
