Chicot County was formed on October 25, 1823 as the tenth county of Arkansas.  The county seat is located in Lake Village.

Chicot County is located in the southeast corner of Arkansas.

Chicot County is home to Lake Chicot, the largest oxbow lake in North America and the largest natural lake in Arkansas.

The cities and towns in Chicot County are:  Dermott, Eudora and Lake Village.
