HAZEL M. MCKINNEY DAVIS

Thebes, IL.--HAZEL M. DAVIS, age 76 of Thebes, died at 5:05 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was born Nov. 11, 1926 in Corning, Ark., the daughter of Willis and Ivory Tucker McKinney.  She married Herschel M. Davis on March 19, 1945.  He preceded her in death on March 19, 2000. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Larry Duffell of Thebes; three grandchildren, three sisters, Ruby Hinkle of Rockford, Ill., Lillion Lewis of New Orleans, La., and Mabel Starr of Fairview Heights, Ill.; two brothers, Orvil McKinney of New Madrid, Mo., and Bily McKinney of South Carolina, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, Stirl McKinney, Raymond McKinney, Roy McKinney, Virgil McKinney and Harvey McKinney, and two sisters, Ethel Fleetwood and Elsie Jo Cliff. Funeral services for Hazel M. Davis were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at the Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, IL with Rev. Mark Boyd officiating.  Interment followed in Lindsey Cemetery in McClure, Ill. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 and on Tuesday, Dec. 31 until time of services at the funeral home. HOSEA LIVINGSTON DAVIS

Funeral services for Hosea Davis, age 89, of Corning, Ark., (formerly of Mammoth Spring) will be held Fri., Jan 15, at 1:00 pm at Ermert Funeral Home of Corning, Ark.  He is survived by his wife, Marion Davis of the home in Corning, Ark., one son, Robert Davis of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. --Memorial Time Notice, Radio Station KALM, dated 14 Jan 1988, contributed by Christi Scovel. (Note: Hosea was the son of Charles C. & Martha Young Davis. He married Marion Head on Aug. 18, 1921.)


ROBERT S. DUDLEY
Rockville, MD--Robert S. Dudley, 70, retired Associated Press newsman, died Friday (July 18, 1980) at Suburban Hospital of complications from rheumatoid arthritis. He lived in Rockville.
Mr. Dudley joined the AP in 1934 in Memphis, Tenn. Later he worked in Nashville, New York City and Kansas City, Mo.
In 1934, he returned to New York City, where he worked on AP's general news desk until his retirement in 1972, when he moved to Rockville.
Mr. Dudley was born in Clay County, Ark. He grew up in Jonesboro, Ark. He attended the University of Arkansas.
He was past president of the Rockville Senior Associates and a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Rockville.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Sara Bridenthal; two daughters, Charolette D. Otterback of Gaithersburg, and Roberta . Arvani of Birmingham, Mich.; two brothers, David D., of Springfield, Mo., and Remmel H., of Falls Church, and seven grandchildren.

VALERIA CECILIA CAROLINE (HAMPTON) DUNGER

Valeria Cecilia Caroline Dunger, 93, of Scott City, Mo., died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.  She was born Feb. 8, 1914 in Carryville, Ark., daughter of Alexander and Lennie Adeline Jones Hampton.  She and Henry August Dunger were married Nov. 24, 1938 at Potosi, Mo.  He died Feb. 11, 1969.  Mrs. Dunger had been a nurse's aide at Southeast Missouri Hospital, and a med nurse at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Scott City, and Rebekah Lodge in Cape Girardeau.  Survivors include two sons, Larry Dunger of Scott City, Henry Dunger, Jr. of St. Louis; two daughters, Estella Barron of Cape Girardeau; Sandra Cruse of Carmi, IL; two sisters, Olivia Kidd of Lebanon, IL, Georgia McDowell of Springfield, IL; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.  The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gregg Fina officiating.  Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
