WELCOME TO CLEVELAND COUNTY ARKANSAS GENEALOGY TRAILS Cleveland County was organized August 17, 1873. The Arkansas legislature established Dorsey County as Arkansas' 71st county. It was named for Stephen W. Dorsey, a United States Senator from Arkansas. He was indicted for defrauding the Post Office and the county renamed it on March 5, 1885 for newly elected President Grover Cleveland.
ABOUT GENEALOGY TRAILS Genealogy Trails is a new group started in Illinois in 2000 and expanding this year (2006) to all fifty states.
