ARKANSAS GENEALOGY TRAILS

Conway County is located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. It is home to Petit Jean Mountain and Petit Jean State Park. In the park is located one of the highest waterfalls in the South, Cedar Falls. Other points of interest are the Arkansas River and Lake Overcup.

Conway County was organized October 20, 1825 from territory taken from Pulaski County. It was named for Henry Wharton Conway, a congressman killed in a duel in 1825.
