SOLGOHACHIA, ARK--ODES EPPERSON, age 90, of Solgohachia, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 3, 2004. He was born December 19, 1913, in Formosa, Arkansas, a son of Tom and Margaret Guinn Epperson. Mr. Epperson was a lifelong resident of Conway County and a retired auto mechanic. He was of the General Baptist faith, a Mason for over 50 years, a Master Mason, and a member of Solgohachia No. 722. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Laverne Williams Epperson of Solgohachia; sons, Odes Ray Epperson of and and wife, Billie Epperson of Solgohachia; daughters, Betty and husband, Tim McCoy of Solgohachia, and Margaret and husband Kenneth Shannon of Brighton, Colorado; brothers, Arnold Epperson of Alameda, California; Mitchell and Olen Epperson, both of Morrilton; grandchildren, Kenneth McCoy, Stephanie Nix, Michael W. Epperson, Audrey Epperson, Thomas Epperson, and Lee and Linda Epperson, which he helped raise; five great-grandchildren; one great- stepgrandchild; two great-great-stepgrandchildren and the family of Brookridge Life Care Center where he was a resident for two years and three months. He was preceded in death by brothers, Joe and Marvin Epperson; sisters, Avie Isaacs and Pearlie Maxwell Ingram; and grandson, Kenneth Forrest Shannon. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, at Harris Chapel with the Rev. Lindy Davis officiating. Burial was at Kilgore Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers were Sgt. Michael William Epperson, John Dale Morrow, Glen Mayhew, Jerrell Brice, Dwight Mullens, Bobby Brents, and Robert Wofford.

SOLGOHACHIA, ARK--JULIA EVANS, 91, of Solgohachia, died Friday, Nov. 17. She was born Nov. 13, 1904 in Birdtown, a daughter of William and Nancy Gordon-Deaton. She was the widow of Floyd Evans Sr., a member of the Lone Grove and attended the Morrilton Senior Adult Center.
Survivors include one son, Floyd Evans Jr., of Solgohachia; one daughter, Marie Hagear of Merced Calif.; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were . at the Bob Neal and Sons Morrilton Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charlie Johnson and Bro. Robert Payne officiating. Burial was in the Kilgore Cemetery. Pallbearers were Glen Powell, Gerald Powell, Charles Conley, , Clyde Ruff and Glen Sledge.
