K. BAKER
Delta,
MO--Ralph Kenyon Baker, 83, of Delta died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 at
Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born in
Lake
City, AR, April 3, 1924, to the late Grover and Edith Speer Baker.
He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II as a radioman.
Baker was an inspector for General Motors in St. Louis 27
years.
On Nov. 26, 1946 he married Frankie Jo Vaughn. She
preceded
him in death May 17, 1987. He married Glenda Burnett Sept.
15,
1990.
Ralph was a member of Randles Baptist Church, Whitewater Masonic Lodge
417 and Christian Motorcycle Association in Cape Girardeau.
He
was a member of several gospel groups, starting when he was a boy
singing in church. He was a member of United Auto Workers in
Poplar Bluff. He was a former member of Collinsville Masonic
Lodge 712.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Burnett of Delta; two sons, Robert
(Eva) Baker of Troy, Ill., Joe (Tina) Baker of Fairview Heights, Ill.;
two daughters, Janet (Thomas) Smith of Edwardsville, Ill., Paula Rhodes
and fiance Brian Brocker of Gillette, WY; five stepsons, Jerry (Dixie)
Burnett of Oak Ridge, IL, Bob (Rosalie) Burnett of Jackson, MO, Alan
(Janet) Burnett of Benton, MO, Tom (Shelly) Burnett of Chaffee, MO,
Kenny (Sandy) Burnett of Delta; a step-daughter, Paulette Burnett of El
Reno, OK; a brother, Vester Baker of Spring Valley, CA; three sisters,
Violet Hollis of West Memphis, AR, Vivian Baker of Paragould, AR,
Virginia Loewen of Mobile, AL; 20 grandchildren; 26
great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. He
was
preceded in death by a stepson, Randy Burnett; two brothers and two
sisters.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in
Chaffee. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 28,
2008)
at the chapel with the Rev. Charles Kohbaker officiating and Rick Cobb
assisting. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens
near
Morley, MO, with full military honors.
AUDREY PAULINE BARNETT
BROOKLAND, ARK - Audrey Pauline
Barnett, 81, of Brookland died Monday, Nov. 12, at St. Bernard’s
Medical Center. Born in Jonesboro, she had lived most of her life in
the Jonesboro and Brookland areas, was a homemaker and was a member of
Pine Log United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, James E. Barnett of Paducah, Ky.; two
daughters, Louise Dacus of Jonesboro and Brenda Eads of Wyanet, Ill.;
two sisters, Ruby Gilley of Burton, Mich., and Vaudine Snyder of
Bryant; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of
Roller-Framers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Jerry Jolly
officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Mickey Neff, Delbert Hathcoat, Bob Bishop, Carroll Dacus, Bill McLaughlin and Austin Neff.
Honorary pallbearers will include the men of Pine Log United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jonesboro, AR--Mrs. Laura
Barnett, 79, of
Jonesboro, Route 5, died Monday afternoon (May 27, 1990) at Geriatrics
Nursing Center. A native of Jonesboro, she was a retried dental
assistant and attended the Central Baptist Church. She was a lifelong
member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Ila East of
Jonesboro; three brothers, Charles Wren of Indianapolis, Ind., Thomas
Wren of Houston, Texas, and Orval McEwan of Pine Bluff; three sisters,
Mrs. Helen Willis of Memphis, Mrs. Syble Cloar and Mrs. Lavern
Franklin, both of Jonesboro; two grandchildren; and two great
grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Thursday
morning at 10 at
the Jonesboro Memorial Park with Rev. Rex Holt officiating. Burial will
follow under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Visitation will be this evening from 6
until 8 at the funeral.

LaFORGE, MO - MELBA JEAN BENNETT, 71, died at 7:45 a.m. Nov. 27, 2001, in the Beverly Nursing Center.
Born July 7, 1930, in Caraway, Ark., daughter of the late L.T. and
Janie Vanhoozier Hampton, she had lived in LaForge most of her life and
was a member of the Kewanee Missionary Baptist Church and New Madrid
American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
On Feb. 27, 1953, she married Melvin Haw "Bo" Bennett who preceded her in death on March 28, 1982.
Survivors include: two sons, Mike Bennett of LaForge and Melvin Bennett
of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Vicki Bennett of LaForge; one brother,
Ira Thomas Hampton of Clarkton; one sister, Ida Johnson of Bernie;
three grandchildren, Tonya Gayle Wilson of Portageville, Jessica
Michelle Bennett of New Madrid and Sydney Marie Bennett-Dewitt of
LaForge; and two great-grandchildren, Lawton Mikel Wilson and Corlie
Paige Wilson of Portageville.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Hampton; and one sister, Essie Mae Beck.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home in East
Prairie where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday with Tom
McCanless officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sikeston City Cemetery.

BROOKLAND, AR --
Graveside services for Jimmy Lynn "Jim" BROCK, 43, of Brookland, who
died Friday, Feb. 6, at St. Bernard's Medical Center, are scheduled for
3 p.m. today at Bolivar Cemetery near Harrisburg, with Don Jones
officiating.
Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
He lived in the Jonesboro and Brookland area all of his life.
Survivors include one son, Michael Lynn BROCK of Jonesboro; two
daughters, Laura Beth BROCK and Joni Michelle BROCK, both of Brookland;
and one sister, Debra Hardin of Jonesboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Ellin BROCK, and
one brother.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Glen BROCK, 42, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, May 14, at St. Bernard's
Medical Center. He was born in Jonesboro.
Survivors include one daughter, Cassandra Goodson of Jonesboro; one
brother, Jim BROCK of Jonesboro; one sister, Debra Hardin of Jonesboro;
and one granddaughter, Sydney Goodson of Jonesboro.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bolivar Cemetery,
with Rickey Rose officiating. Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Terry Veal, John Pyle, Jerry Veal, David
Johnson, Larry Mills and Billy Mills.
Honorary pallbearers will include Jeremy Pyle, Mark Coleman, Jimmy
Goodson and Wayne Mills.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
