Jonesboro Sun, March 19, 1949 Craighead County Arkansas Genealogy Trails Contributed by Ila East Activity As Carpenters Overhaul County Home  Although the Craighead County Home is in better shape than most similar homes in the Midsouth, there was plenty to do. H. D. Barnett (foreground) found the backporch foundation rotted out. Claude Wood was removing one of the supports when this photo was taken. The porch was being rebuilt by the Jonesboro carpenters who were donating their service. Scrap wood and screen already torn from the porch is shown at right.
