Mrs. Charles A. Hunter, 703 Flint, a great-great-granddaughter of the founder of Crowley's Ridge died at St. Bernard's Hospital, Thursday. She was 53. Mrs. Hunter's great-great-grad-father was the late Benjamin H. Crowley, for whom Crowley's Ridge was named. The Crowley family was among the first to settle on the Ridge in the 1800's. Mrs. Hunter a resident of Jonesboro for the past 26 years was born at Peach Orchard. She resided in Paragould before moving to Jonesboro with her family in 1925. She was a member of the Hunting Avenue Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by her husband Charles Hunter , one daughter , Mrs. John M. Corcoran, Coco Beach, Fla. , one sister Mrs. Grace Sawyer, Glendale, Calif., one brother Ralph W. Zook, Bakersfield, Ca. - Submitted by: Wendy Corcoran
