Izard County Arkansas Genealogy Trails

----Arkansas County the Oldest County in Arkansas was created December 13, 1813. From Arkansas County other counties were created. Chicot, Clark, Desha , Drew, Hempstead, Independence, Jefferson, Lincoln County, Monroe, Phillips, and Pulaski.
----Lawrence County was in the territory of Missouri. It and became part of Arkansas, when Arkansas was granted statehood January 15, 1815.
----Independence County was created October 23,1820 from portions of Arkansas County and Lawrence County
----Izard County was created October 27, 1825 from a portion of Independence County
----Fulton County was created on December 21, 1842 from a portion of Izard County and a portion of Lawrence County
----Baxter County was created on March 24, 1873 from parts of Fulton, Izard, Marion, and Searcy counties
----Stone County was created April 21, 1873 from parts of Izard, Independence, Searcy and Van Buren counties.
