Raytown, MO--LONA J. BAKER, 84, of Raytown, passed away Saturday, October 24, 1998.
Lona was born August 31, 1914, in Marion County, AR, to Marion and Ibby (Langston) Shipman.
She attended public school near Fritch, AR. After moving to Kansas City as an adult, Lona worked as a retail clerk for Safeway Foods. She was an avid quilter and a long time member of Calico Patches and Pieces Quilting Group. She was a long time member of Kansas City Baptist Temple.
Lona is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bennie L. Baker, Raytown, MO; her daughter, Alice Jackie Baker Bell, Lake Quivera, KS; her son, Gary D. Baker, Lee's Summit, MO; her brother, Con Shipman, Lincoln, MO; four grandchildren, Derek A. Herman, Tague A.ElvaCamp, Flora Warman, Delpha Adams and Eula Terrill. Yellville, Ark.--The funeral for LEAMON CUNNINGHAM, 82, of Yellville will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 2 at Yellville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Clayton Cunningham officiating.  Mr. Cunningham died Tuesday, Dec. 30,2003 at Marion County Nursing Home.
Mr. Cunningham was born May 17, 1921 at Eros to Oral N. and Idella (Jones) Cunningham.  He married Sue Burrow May 3, 1947.  She preceded him in death on October 9, 1999.  He was a farmer.  Mr. Cunningham was a lifetime resident of Marion County, former Pyatt School Board member and Marion County School Board member.  
He is survived by his son, Jerry Don Cunningham and wife, Diana, of Yellville; brothers, Harold Cunningham of Yakima, Wash., and Glen Cunningham of Surprise, Ariz.; sister, Bonnie Hunter of Bergman; and two grandchilden, clayton Cunningham of Benton and Kristyn Goodwin and husband, Philip, of Conway.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wie, Sue; and two sisters, Kathryn Whitney and Hazel Stanley.
Burial will be at Patton Cemetery at Pyatt with Buddy King, Donnie Sharp, Joe Baker, Mark Duren, Tim Hall and Philip Goodwin as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Marion County Nursing Home staff.  Arrangements are by Burns Funeral Home Inc.  --The Baxter Bulletin, Dec. 31, 2003.



ARLINGTON, TX - DOTTIE DUKE, 80, retired owner of Duke & Associates Real Estate in Arlington and 1972 state president of the Texas Women's Council of Realtors, died Wednesday at an Arlington hospital.
Funeral: 11 a.m. today at Pantego Bible Church, where she was a 30-year member.
Burial: Dido Cemetery in Northwest Tarrant County.
Arrangements: Arlington Funeral Home.
Mrs. Duke was born in Marion County, Ark., was a former resident of Hillsboro and had lived in Arlington since 1954.
With her husband of 53 years, George H. Duke, who died in 1990, Mrs. Duke owned and operated Duke Chrysler/Plymouth in Hillsboro and Duke Chrysler/Plymouth in Arlington in the 1950s. They owned and operated Duke & Associates Real Estate from the early 1960s until their retirement in 1979. She was a life member of the Arlington Board of Realtors and was named Realtor of the Year in 1975. Mrs. Duke served as director of Women's Council of Realtors and was 1973 regional vice president of the National Council of Realtors.

OLNEY, TX - TROY F. FRAZIER, 89, an Assembly of God Church minister, died Thursday at an Olney hospital.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church. Burial: Restland Cemetery in Olney.
Memorials: Southwestern Assembly of God University, 1200 Sycamore, Waxahachie 75165.
Officiating: The Revs. E.T. Wray, Roger Wall, Charles Savage and W.A. McCann.
Mr. Frazier was born Jan. 28, 1906, in Marion County, Ark. He married Ima Jewel Worley on July 17, 1927 in Woodson.
His wife, Ima Jewel Worley Frazier, died July 27, 1993. He was a member of the Loving (Texas) Assembly of God Church and had been a pastor in New Mexico and at several churches throughout Texas.
Survivors: Son, B.D. Frazier of Wallport, Ore.; four daughters, Frankie Medlin of Plano, Ozelle Flippo of Fort Worth, Faye Poldson of Muskogee, Okla., and LaVerne Stayton of Corinth, Miss.; two sisters, Lee Ada Medlen of Olney and Faye Stark of Comanche; brother, Burt Frazier of De Leon; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Oklahoma City, OK--IUKA GIDDENS, age 82, died Oct. 11, 1987. Born in Marion County, AR. She is survived by her husband, Thomas H. Giddens; a sister, Dorsa Hanson; several nieces and nephews. REDDING, CA--Services for SYBLE IVON LA GRANGE, 61, of Redding will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.
Mr. Armond LaGrange will officiate.
Mrs. LaGrange died Friday, June 24, 1994, at her residence.
Born Sept. 26, 1932, in Marion County Ark., she moved to Shasta County in 1960 from Los Angeles.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include husband George; sons William Sutton of Redding and Armond LaGrange of Kansas City, Mo.; daughter Michele Brown of Redding; sister Emma Albert of Redding; mother Georgia Jackson of Redding and stepmother Frances Gee of Baldwin Park; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

FORT WORTH, TX - MARY ANNE LANE, a retired associate professor of nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington, died Tuesday at a Fort Worth hospital. She was 70.
Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Robertson Mueller Harper-Eighth Avenue. Burial will be in Flippin Cemetery in Flippin, Ark.
Ms. Lane was born in Marion County, Ark., and lived in Fort Worth for 32 years. She was a graduate of Texas Christian University and the University of Colorado.
Ms. Lane was a member of Sigma Theta Tau and the National League for Nursing.
Survivors: Cousins.

JUANITA MANCINI

MODESTO, CA--Juanita Mancini, 74 of Modesto died Saturday at her daughter's home in Fairfield. Mrs. Mancini was a native of Marion County, Ark. She lived in Modesto 30 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center.
She is survived by her husband, Velio Mancini of Modesto; children, Ronald Mancini, Rodney Mancini and Rita Millerick, all of Modesto, and Mary Mancini of Fairfield; sisters, Flonnie Webb of Modesto and Goldie Hennings of Ceres; and seven grandchildren.

GRANDVIEW, WA--FLEETA JANE (HOGSED) MCDONALD, 81, of Grandview died Friday at Grandview Health Care Center.
Mrs. McDonald was born in Marion County, Ark. She performed professionally with her siblings as The Original Arkansas Hillbillies and moved to Washington in 1947. She later lived in the Clatskanie, Ore., area before returning to Washington in 1985. She lived north of Prosser before entering Grandview Health Care Center.
Survivors include three sisters, Lorene Ott of Flippen, Ark., Florene Johnson of Odessa, Texas, and Louvenia Pace of West Plains, Mo.; six daughters, Pat Beierle of Prosser, Shirley Delaney and Janita Wutzke, both of Sunnyside, Linda Wutzke of Grandview, Nancy Thompson of Kennewick and Janie Eder of Longview, Wash.; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Home, Grandview. The funeral will be at noon Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church, Prosser. Interment will follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.   --Yakima Herald-Republic (WA) - September 1, 1999

GROVELAND, CA--Buck Pace, 80, of Groveland died Saturday at Sonora Community Hospital. Mr. Pace was a native of Marion County, Ark. He lived in Sonora 10 years. He had retired after a 35-year career with Signal Oil and Gas; he worked last as a production supervisor.
He is survived by his children, David Pace of Long Beach and Dennis Pace of Bishop; a sister, Mary Andres of Modesto; and a brother, Joe Pace of Wetmuk, Okla.

Bull Shoals, AR.--WILLIAM DANNY PERDUE, 51, of Bull Shoals, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at his home.  He was born July 13, 1955 in Cape Girardeau, MO, son of Stanley and Jean Perdue.  Formerly of Cape Girardeau, he moved to Bull Shoals in 2003.  He was an over-the-road truck driver.  He was a social member of Hoevel-Barnett Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1341, and member of Midway Eagles Aerie 3183.  Survivors include a daughter, Danielle Perdue, and a son, Seth Perdue of Benton, MO; six sisters, Jackie Myers and Dian Scholl of Gassville, AR, Judy Puddy of Bull Shoals, Cindy Chapman of New Port Richey, FL, Rebecca McConnell and Cathy LeGrand of Oran, MO; two brothers, Monte Perdue of Bull Shoals and James Perdue of Midway, AR.  He was perceded in death by his parents, a sister, and three brothers.  The funeral and burial will be private.  Kirby and Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals is in charge of arrangements.



KANSAS CITY, MO--LELAH D. SHIPMAN, 86, of the Jefferson Health Care Center, Lee's Summit, died Feb. 10, 1992, at the Lee's Summit Hospital. She was born in Marion County, Ark., and moved to this area in 1968. Mrs. Shipman attended the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Independence.
Survivors include a son, Burl Shipman, Lyles, Tenn.; six daughters, Faye Whitson, Vanedia Froning and Zelia Harber of Independence, Biffell McEntire and Inez Lafferty of San Diego and Opal Scarborough, Blue Springs; a brother, Ray Rice, Fort Smith, Ark.; five sisters, Arkie Bogle, Kennett, Mo., Noma Young, Orange Cove, Calif., Edra Young, Hartford, Calif., Othello Taylor, Alpena, Ark., and Zula Hutchenson, Mesa, Ariz.; 25 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Webb-Freer Chapel; burial in the Blue Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel.

LAFAYETTE, CA--Lillie Stanton, a homemaker for 49 years, died Saturday at her home in Lafayette. She was 71.
The native of Marion County, Ark., lived in Martinez before moving to Lafayette 21 years ago. She was a member of Lamorinda Circle. She enjoyed making handicrafts, sewing and quilting.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Lyman Stanton; daughters, Linda Sue Adams, Joyce Louise Mercado and Carol Ann Stanton; sons, Leonard Thomas, Raymond Edgar and Bryan Lyman Stanton; and eight grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Redwood Chapel, Oakmont Mortuary, Lafayette, with visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. that day at the chapel. Burial will be private at Lafayette Cemetery.

RALPH STUBBS Services Today
Funeral services for Ralph Stubbs, 58, Archie, formerly of West Plains, were at 10:30 a.m. today in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains with the Rev. David Hicks officiating.
Mr. Stubbs died Saturday afternoon in the VA Hospital in Kansas City.  He was born Dec. 21, 1924 in Rush, Ark., the son of the late Jake J. and Prudence Gertrude Collins Stubbs.
He received his education in the Star and Siloam Springs Schools in Howell County and was married to Christine Havalow, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include three step-children; one brother, David Stubbs, Marshall; four sisters, Opal Chambers, Archie, Myrtle Goss, Waldron, Helen Lunestrom, Grandview, and Ruth Clark, Lees Summit; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, his wife, and three brothers preceded him in death.
Burial was in Old Horton Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains.  --West Plains Daily Quill, Sept. 6, 1983.



KANSAS CITY, MO–EULA TERRILL, 80, Oak Grove in Jackson County, died Aug. 24, 1993, at St. Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Newcomer's Blue Springs Chapel; burial in the Blue Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel.
Mrs. Terrill was born in Marion County, Ark., and lived in this area most of her life. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Terrill, Blue Springs, and J.B. Terrill, Anderson, Mo.; three daughters, Doris Ryan, Buckner, Wilma Carin, Bates City, Mo., and Patti Withers, Blue Springs; a brother, Con Shipman, Lincoln, Mo.; a sister, Lona Baker, Independence; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
