BLYTHEVILLE, AR–KENT EDWARD ANDREWS JR., 14-year-old son of Rose and Kent E. Andrews, died of heart disease Sunday at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First United Pentecostal Church, where he was a member, with burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home has charge. He was a student at East Junior High School. He also leaves four sisters, Denise Crawford, Pamela Andrews, Felicia Andrews and Latressee Andrews, all of Blytheville, and his grandparents, Mary Campbell of Blytheville and Roosevelt McKinney of Indianapolis. --Commercial Appeal, The (Memphis, TN) - May 10, 1995

LUXORA, AR--ROBERT DONNIE ASHLEY, 51, of Luxora died Sunday (May 11, 2008) at his home. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include wife, Kathleen Ashley; duaghters, Kathy Ashley and Patty Thurman; son, David Stokes; sisters, Nellie Melvin and Patricia Mann; brothers, Ricky Ashley, Billy Ashley, James Ashley and Butch Ashley; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with Jackie Woods and the Rev. Bobby Tidwell officiating.  Burial will be in Sandy Ridge Cemetery at Burdette.  Visitation will be at the funeral home today at 4 p.m. for the family and from 5-8 p.m. for the public.

JOHN RAY BLAYLOCK, 77, of Jackson, MO passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.  He was born Dec. 12, 1929 in Osceola, Ark., son of Arlie and Lottie Mae MacMeans Blaylock.  He and Eugenia Kolarz were married Feb. 10, 1952 in Chicago.  
John was a medic four years with the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and served as usher/greeter many years.  He was a member of American Legion Post 158 in Jackson.  John was an avid golfer and sportsman all his life.  He graduated from Jackson High School in 1949, and attended St. Louis College of Pharmacy.  In 1956 he graduated from Century College of Medical Technology in Chicago.
Blaylock had been employed by both Jones and the former Finney's Drug Stores in the Southeast Missouri area, and later managed eight drug stores in the Chicago area for eight years.  He then worked for Rexall Drug Co. as a representative and later for McKesson Robbins Drug Wholesalers as a sales representative.
The family moved to Jackson from Elmhurst, Ill. in 1969.  He was then emplyed by Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1990.
Loving survivors include his wife; a son, John (Michelle) Blaylock, Jr. of Hartselle, Ala.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
When he was nine years old, he was preceded in death by his mother and infant sister; and later, his father and three sisters, Irma Lee Lois Blaylock, Verba Marie Sousan, and Mable Propst.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.  An American Legion service will be hled at 7, with parish prayers at 7:30, followed by the rosary.


Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Monsignor Edward Eftink officiating.  Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson with graveside military honors.

MANILA, AR--ROBERT WAYNE BLOCKER, 51, of Manila died Monday (May 12, 2008) at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.  Born in Leachville, he was the son of the late Franklin Blocker.  Survivors include his mother, Noma Jean Colangelo; daughters, Amber Blocker, Dawn Blocker and Heather Blocker; sister, Katrina Boles; and three grandchildren.  Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Lulu Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.  The family will receive visitors from noon until 12:30 Wednesday at Howard Funeral Service.

ORLANDO, FL  Nov. 13, 1985 --CHARLES BOLES, 82, 223 10th Ave., Ocoee, died Monday. Born in Osceola, Ark., he  moved to Ocoee from Arkansas in 1974. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Winter Garden. Survivors: wife, Helen; sons, Ronald, Ocoee, Charles R., Clermont, Larry D., Winter Garden; daughters, Wanda Lovelace, Blytheville, Ark., Norma Riggins, Houston; 11 grandchildren. CHARLES JUNIOR CORA, 79, of Leachville, AR, formerly of Cape Girardeau, MO, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007 at his home.  He was born in Cape Girardeau, son of William Arthur and Mabel Skaggs Cora.
Cora was a retired brick mason and member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union Local 3 in California.
He lived in California many years, moving to Leachville 12 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Lois Cora of the home; a son, Michael Cora of Sacramento, CA; and a grandson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Howard Funeral Service of Leachville is in charge of arrangements.

LEON ROBINSON CULP, 83, of Sikeston, MO died Sunday, Oct 21, 2007 at his home.  He was born Nov. 5, 1923 in Leachville, AR, son of William and Mattie Culp.  He and Helen Litchford were married May 11, 1968.
Culp was with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety 27 years, having served in every capacity from dispatcher to chief of police.  He was a member of River of Life Worship Center and American Legion Post 114.
He was a petty officer in the U. S. Navy, serving in the Pacific during World War II.  He was awarded a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Culp of Cleburne, TX, Bill Culp of Sikeston; a daughter, Patty Herrolle of Fair Oaks, IN; a stepdaughter, Lorraine Taber of Dexter, MO; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister, a stepson, a grandson and two great-great-grandsons.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today (October 25, 2007) at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.  The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday (October 26, 2007) at the funeral home with the Rev. Greg Forrester officiating.  Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield (MO) with full military honors.

Oran, MO.--ROY LEON DAVIS, 72 of Vicksburg, Miss., died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007 at Promise Hospital of Vicksburg.
He was born June 30, 1935 in Osceola, Ark., son of Dick and Mary Buell Davis.
Davis was a brick mason and owned and operated a lawn care service many years.
Survivors include three sons, Rick Davis of Birmingham, AL, Tom Davis of Delta, LA, John Davis of Warrior, AL; four daughters, Peggy Lape and Jane Swain of Chaffee, MO, Lavern Warren of Kansas City, KS, Janice Trankler of Oran, MO; two brothers, Bill Davis of Valrico, FL, Glen Davis of Oran; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007 at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, MO.  The Rev. Ed Carter will officiate.

Dexter, MO--LEROY EVANS, formerly of Dexter, died Saturday March 23, at Doctor's Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Evans was born Oct. 11, 1905 in Manila, Ark.  He was of the Baptist faith.
He was married to Florine Stitts, who preceded him in death August.

McKENNA, WA --VIRGIL MARVIN GAINES, 81, died Aug. 10, 2001, at the Nisqually Valley Care Center. Born July 6, 1920, in Yarbrough, Ark., son of the late William Dawson and Mina Mosley Gaines, he retired as a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include: one daughter, Janet Sue Reece of West Memphis, Ark; one son, Virgil Maurice Gaines of West Helena, Ark.; one sister, Altha Gunn of Sikeston, Mo.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, James Arthur Gaines and Phillip Darrell Gaines; two brothers, Richard Gaines and Leslie Gaines; and two sisters, Helen Morgan and Leona Reed. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.

Osceola, AR--JOYCE FAYE GRIMES, 68, of Osceola, died Nov 25, 2007 at her home.  She was born March 22, 1939 in Alabama to Walker and Ola Mae Maynard Oakes.  They preceded her in death.  She married Levi Grimes.  He survives of Osceola.
She is a retired office manager and a member of the Church of Christ in Osceola.
She is survived by a daughter, Glenda Hawks of Osceola; a son, Allen Grimes of Osceola; six sisters, Brenda Reed and Kay colison, both of Advance, MO, Linda Thempleton of St. Peters, MO, Evie Henderson of Olive Branch, IL, Judy Akridge of Campbell, MO, and Judy Huskey of columbia, MO; five brothers, Ricky cobb of Delta, MO, David Oakes of Qulin, MO, L. G. Oakes of Bald Knob, AR, Glen Oakes of Osceola and Skip Thomson of Christianburg, VA; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a sister and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Nov 27, 2007) at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.  The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev David Sweet officiating.  Burial will be at Dogwood Cemetery Mausoleum in Blytheville, AR.

KINGMAN, ARIZ.--DOROTHY VICTORIA PARKER HUSKEY passed away Feb. 14, 2008 at Kingman.  Mrs. Huskey was born in Manila Oct. 10, 1922.  She married Troy Huskey of Caraway in 1940.  They lived in California and Michigan before retiring to Heber Springs, where they lived until her husband's death in 1997.  
Survivors include her son, Troy Huskey, Jr. of Kingman; grandson Troy Huskey III and Robert Huskey, also of California; and several nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be May 21 (2008) at noon in Caraway Cemetery with Ted Knight officiating and Gregg Funeral Home in charge.

WEST RIDGE, TN--ROBERT LAFAYETTE JOHNSON, 80, retired farmer, died Wednesday at Mississippi County Hospital in Osceola after a short illness. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto. Murphy Funeral Home of Lepanto has charge. He was a member of West Ridge Baptist Church. Johnson, the husband of Violet Johnson, also leaves five daughters, Mrs. Nora Ferguson and Mrs. Peggy Morgan, both of West Reidge, Mrs. Bonnie Fleming and Miss Martha Johnson, both of Oceanside, Calif., and Mrs. Carolyn Moore of Leachville; eight sons, Ennis Johnson, William Johnson and Fred Johnson, all of West Ridge, Bobby Johnson of Yorba Linda, Calif., Robert Johnson Jr. of Salt Lake City, Grady Johnson of Luxora, Harvey Johnson of Osceola, and Nathan Johnson of Blytheville; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Garner of Blytheville, 38 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

OSCEOLA, ARK--MAUDE CUMMINGS JUSTICE, 103, of Osceola, Ark., died May 27, 2008, at an Osceola nursing home. She was born March 11, 1905 in Batesville, Ark., the daughter of the late Joe and Amanda Cummings.
She was a farm laborer and homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by: three daughters, Lucille Faulkenberry and Bernice Johnson, both of Osceola and Jo Ann Pace of Cave City; one son, James O'Neal Justice of Sidney, Ark.; one sister, Lena Dunegan of Osceola; 210 grandchildren, which includes great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, James Edward Justice; two sons, Junior Edward Justice and Eugene Justice; one daughter, Pauline Bryant; four sisters, Stella Palmer, Fan Neiman, Emma Finley and Bette Cummings; six brothers, Jim Cummings, John Cummings, Bill Cummings, Charlie Cummings, Edgar Cummings and her twin brother, Aud Cummings; and some great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 30 at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Cliff Liles and Bro. Donald Finely officiating. Burial followed in the Weaver's Chapel Cemetery located north of Batesville with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Charles Hayslip, Levon Hayslip, James Faulkenberry, Jerry Faulkenberry, Henry Farris, Joe Johnson, Jesse Justice and Terry Justice.

MANILA, AR--MRS. SARAH FRANCES NANCE, 102, of Manila died Sunday (May 11, 2008) at Manila Nursing Center.  Born at New Albany, Miss., she was a longtime Manila area resident and the widow of Herman Nance.
Mrs. Nance was a member of New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church in Manila.
Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Nance Harrison of Manila; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Revs. David Fair and Bobby Eddings officiating.  Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

LULA M. PERRY, 80, of Cape Girardeau, MO, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at her home.  She was born April 30, 1927 in Osceola, Ark., daughter of Abron and Willie B. Dillard Hunt.  She and Clarence Perry were married in Osceola.  He died in 1952.  
Perry had worked as a housekeeper at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1989.  She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Tedrow of Cape Girardeau, and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.  The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2007 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brett Randall officiating.  Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

MARCUS T. PINSANOR, 14, of Perryville, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2006 at St. Jude's Childen's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was born Oct. 19, 1992 in Blytheville, Ark., son of Kiat and Michelle Wagner Pinsanor.
Pinsanor attended Perryville Middle School and was a member of the Challenge Class.Survivors include his mother, Michelle Pinsanor of Perryville, his father, Kiat Pinsanor of Thailand; one brother, Clay Pinsanor of Perryville; maternal grandmother, Janet Wagner of Perryville; maternal grandfather, William Wagner and wife, Linda, of Portageville, Mo.; paternal grandfather, Edward Schumer and wife, Linda, of Perryville and paternal great-grandfather, John Cleary of St. Mary, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and paternal great-grandmother.

MR. CARL A. POFF, 77, of Blytheville, died Dec. 13, 1990 at Baptist Memorial, Blytheville.  He had been a resident of Blytheville for the past 60 years. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Albie POFF of Blytheville; five daughters, Mrs. Carlene BAKER, Mrs. Bonnie COGGIN both of Blytheville, Mrs. Mavis TROMBLEY of Sanford, Fla., Mrs. Patricia FANN of O'Fallon, Mo., Mrs. Donna HAYLES of Leeds, Ala.; three brothers, Loyd POFF, Kenneth POFF both of Blytheville, Joe POFF of Hoxie, Ark.; four sisters, Mrs. Arlene WHITE, Mrs. Barbara HANNON, Mrs. Lois REED, Mrs. Wilma SHARP all of Blytheville; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Jackson, MO--EDNA MARIE SEABAUGH, 66, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008 at her home.  She was born Feb. 10, 1942 in Leachville, Ark., daughter of George A. and Lillie Newell Smith.  She and Otis W. Seabaugh were married Oct. 14, 1960.  He passed away June 26, 2001.  
Edna worked at Lenco 25 years.  From 1994 to 2000 she worked at Procter & Gamble as a team leader.  She was an Avon representative many years.  She was a member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Auxiliary Post 158 in Jackson and VFW Auxiliary Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Dalton of Jackson; a granddaughter, Kylee Nicole Dalton of Jackson; a brother, Jesse Smith of Marble Hill, Mo.; a sister, Betty Williamson of Cape Girardeau; a dear friend, Elaine Illers of Jackson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Friday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.  The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Rice officiating.  Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery (in Jackson).

Patton, MO.--PAUL CRAWFORD SHIRLEY, 91 of Blytheville, Ark., formerly of Patton, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.  He was born March 4, 1916 at Patton, son of Joseph J. and Cora E. Linton Shirley.  He and Pauline Kaiser were married Aug. 4, 1943.
Shirley served 30 years in the military.  He first joined Missouri National Guard and then transferred to the Army Air Corps when it was formed.  The last 13 years of his career he was a navigator/bombardier with the Strategic Air Command.  He retired in 1963 as a lieutenant colonel.  
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Peter Shirley of Mountain View, AR, Patrick Shirley of Castro Valley, CA, Capt. Paul Shirley, Jr. of Dayton, OH; two daughters, Pam Capps of Jefferson, TX, Phyllis Angell of Shawnee, KS; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.  The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating.  Burial will be in Patton Cemetery.

Palatine, IL--Funeral services for ESSIE LEONA STUDDARDS (nee Baker), 73, of Palatine, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 30 at the Cobb Funeral Home, Blytheville, Ark. She was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Cullman, Ala.
Interment will be in Dogwood Cemetery, Blytheville, Ark. She died Thursday, Dec. 28 at Northwest Community Hospital.
She was the wife of the late William Studdards; beloved mother of Joan (Rick) Lowery; sister of Mildred Baker of Palatine, Odell Baker of Lexington, Tenn., James Baker of Cobden, Il., Thomas Baker Jr., of Makanda, Il., Mrs. Betty Phillips of Plainfield, Wis., and Mrs. Jessie Adams of Vasant, Va., and grandmother of Joey.
Visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 29 at the Cobb Funeral Home, Blytheville, Ark. Arrangements were made by Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, Palatine.

Blodgett, MO.--EARL RICE "JUNIOR" WADE, 76, of Sikeston, MO., died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.  He was born Sept. 23, 1930 at Luxora, Ark., son of Rice William and Anna Lucille Reynolds Wade.
He married Anne Turney Nov. 22, 1957 at Blodgett.
He was employed with Fabick Equipment Co. for over 44 years.  He served the Missouri National Guard for more than 13 years.  He was a sergeant first class with the 140th, 35th Infantry Division.  He earned expert medal awards for carbine, rifle, rocket launcher, machine gun and driver.
He lived most of his life in Sikeston.  He was a member of the Blodgett Church of Christ and was a longtime, proud member of the National Rifle Association.  
Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Becky Wade and Aaron and Kelly Wade, all of Blodgett; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ken Harbin of Paducah, KY; four sisters, Christine Rice and Molly Evans, both of Blodgett, Peggi Byrd of Sikeston and Judy Leeming of Mountain View, MO; and four grandchildren, Taylor and Jordan Harbin, both of Paducah, and Blake and Katherine Anne Wade, both of Blodgett.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kelles Wade and Charlie Wade; and a sister, Mary Lucille Wade.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.  Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, (Aug 7, 2007) at the Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston.  Rusty Rice, his nephew and minister of Blodgett Church of Christ; Lowell Blasingame, minister of the Church of Christ in Grenada, MS; and Cloyce Sutton of Blytheville, AR, will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Ted Wade, Tom Wade, Mark Wade, Neal Harlow, Jason Byrd, Shawn Byrd, Scott Singletary, David Bachelor and Bill Knoderer.  Burial will be in the Blodgett Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Missouri Military Honors Program.

Sikeston, MO.--JOHNNY LOUIS WATKINS, SR., 67, of Sikeston died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007 at his home.
He was born April 11, 1940, in Burdette, AR, son of Oscar William and Lillie Irean Bowers Watkins.  He and Montene Lockhart were married June 16, 1961 at Bell City, MO.
Watkins was a self-employed farmer and a member of Morley (MO) Church of God.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Johnny Watkins of Oran, MO; two daughters, Debra Buell of Oran, Amanda Watkins of Sikeston; two brothers, Donald and Oscar Watkins of Oran; a sister, Pamela Wefenstette of Oran; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.  The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 at the Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Jackson officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Sikeston.

Sikeston, MO--ETTILEE WESTFALL, 85, died Friday, Jan 11, 2008 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.  She was born March 11, 1922 in Leachville, Ark., daughter of the late Harvey and Dora Holder.  She married Flavel Westfall Feb. 20, 1940 at Benton, MO.  He survives of the home.  Westfall attended Bethel Baptist Church.  Other survivors include a son, Charles Westfall of Sikeston; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Cannon of Fruitland, MO; two brothers, Eugene Holder of St. Louis and Marvin Holder of Bloomfield, MO; a sister, Jewell McClung of Paragould, Ark; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a grandchild.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Home.  The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday (Jan. 14, 2008) at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Adams officiating.  Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, MO.

Sikeston, MO -- BOBBIE JEAN WHITE , 67, died at 1:23 a.m. Sept. 11, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Aug. 26, 1934, in Dell, Ark., daughter of the late Homer Lee and Blanche Anna Pate King Sr., she graduated from Grayridge High School and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was director of the Heritage House Nutrition Program in Sikeston for 25 years.
On Aug. 27, 1960, in Illmo, Mo. she married Dale White Sr. who preceded her in death on May 8, 1994.
Survivors include: one son, Dennis White of Riverview, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Debbie Stallings of Alton, Mo; three brothers, L.E. King of Morehouse, Mo., Homer King Jr. of Morley, Mo., and Walter King of Sikeston; two sisters, Syble Bogle of Aurora, Ill., and Hope Young of Blytheville, Ark.; and eight grandchildren. One son and one brother also preceded her in death. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Tom Geers, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, will officiate.
