MOUNT IDA, Ark. - ELBURN G. ALLEN, JR., 70, formerly of Arlington, TX, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Ida First Baptist Church.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday in Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.
Elburn G. Allen Jr. was a retired southwest regional manager for the Dietzgen Corporation and a former member of the Tate Springs Baptist Church in Arlington.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Hiller Allen.
Survivors: Wife, Phyllis Allen of Mount Ida; two daughters, Polly Walrath of Arlington and Evelyn Sims of Waxahachie; and seven grandchildren.

COLUMBUS, OH–JACK DAVID BEAVER, age 61, of Mount Ida, Ark., died Thursday, June 27, 1996. Born January 8, 1935 in Columbus, Oh. Preceded in death by father Jack Beaver. He was a retired store manager at Schottensteins Store Corp., a Mason and a past member of the Lions.
Survived by his wife, Deborah Beaver of Mount Ida, Ark.; mother, Margaret Boling of Mount Ida; sons, Scott Beaver of Waverly, Oh. and Tim Shaffer of San Antonio, Tex.; daughters, Becky Deckard of Columbus, Oh., Shyla Beaver of Austin, Tex. and Tasha Corson of Columbus, Oh.; 9 grandchildren; half-sister, Joanie Simms of Columbus, Oh.; half-brother, Donald Beaver of Columbus, Oh.; several nieces and nephews.

GREEN VALLEY, IL -- EULE E. CALDWELL, 89, of Broadway Manor Nursing Home in Muskogee, Okla., uncle to many Green Valley residents, died at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 1992, at the home.
Born Feb. 18, 1903, in Montgomery County, Ark., to William Fred and Belle Costolow Caldwell, he married Susan Forbes on March 10, 1930, in New York City. She died in 1945. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Several nieces and nephews survive in the Green Valley area.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Brad Marshall and the Rev. Ervin Peplow will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery. STANTON, TX - RILZA HUGGINS CONINE, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Davis-Smith Funeral Home. Burial: Thompson Chapel Cemetery.
Rilza Conine was born Sept. 10, 1914, in Montgomery County, Ark., the daughter of James Isaac Huggins and Ora Wisner Huggins. In 1934 she married to Lowell William Conine, who died in 1961.
She resided in Texas much of her life before returning to Amity, Ark., in 1972. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening and was an avid quilter.
Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, Lynn Wayne and Beverly Conine of Midland; sisters, Rena Dwinell of Amity and Resa Weaver of Fort Worth; brother, Gene Huggins of Burleson; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.

Syracuse, NY--PATRICIA MARIE “TRISH” STONE HARVARD, 59, died April 28 at her home in Mount Ida, Ark.
Mrs. Havard was a native of Syracuse. She also lived in California before moving to Mount Ida five years ago.
Surviving are her husband, Harry; five children from a former marriage, Patty Ann, Kathy, Carleen, Patrick and Carl; her mother, Mary Strife of Syracuse; and two sisters, Mary Dammers of Camillus and Virginia Masters of Syracuse.
Services were conducted in Mount Ida. Contributions may be made to Hospice, Route 270, Mount Ida, Ark. 71957.
Thornton Funeral Home, Mount Ida, has charge of arrangements.

DALLAS, TX--Services for MARILYN WOODARD HENDRY, a teacher in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford School district for 17 years, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Prairie. Burial will be Monday in Montgomery County, Ark.
Mrs. Hendry, 66, died of heart failure Friday at HCA Arlington Medical Center.
The Kentucky native received a bachelor's degree in education from Kentucky Wesleyan University and first taught school in Winchester, Ky. She later received a master's degree from Texas Wesleyan University. Mrs. Hendry retired in 1975.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Hendry of Grand Prairie; a daughter, Melonnye Lee Puckett of Houston; a brother, Everett Gravett of Winchester, Ky.; and two granddaughters.   --Dallas Morning News, The (TX) - May 23, 1992



Monroeville, IN-- K. CLYDE HORN, 87, of Monroeville died Monday (Dec 26, 1994) in Golden Years Homestead.
The Montgomery County, Ark., native retired in 1971 from Penn Central Railroad after 18 years and formerly farmed in Arkansas.
Surviving are his wife, Naomi L.; daughters, Agatha Roussey, Beverly Clem and Brenda Hoffman, all of Monroeville; eight grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.
Services are private in Marquart & Jacobs Funeral Home, Monroeville, with burial in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.

Englewood, CO--MARY DAVIS JACKSON, 96, of Englewood died Nov. 13 in Littleton, CO. Services were Nov. 17, with burial at Crown Hill. Mrs. Jackson was born in Montgomery County, Ark., on Dec. 12, 1902. She married David Lee Jackson, 1938. She worked as a librarian for the Air Force Finance Center. She was a member of Methodist 1917 OES Radiant Chapter No. 12. Survivors include daughters Janice Andersen and Virginia Curnow, both of Lakewood; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.

Arvada, CO--NELLIE S. PAYTE, 80, of Arvada died Sept. 4 (1994) at home. Services were Sept. 7 in Arvada Church of Christ, with burial in Arvada Cemetery. Mrs. Payte was born Feb. 16, 1914, in Montgomery County, Ark. She married Leonard Payte Sr. on Oct. 2, 1936, and was a homemaker. She belonged to the Miller Street Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Leonard Jr. of Golden and Bobby of Westminster; four daughters, Lena Merciez, Catherine Westervelt and Delma Fagerstone, all of Aurora, and Betty Eli of Casper, Wyo.; two brothers, Earl Widener of Clifton and Jim Widener of Texas; three sisters, Alice Widener of Arvada, Oma Looper of Lakewood and Viola Payte of Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Oklahoma City, OK--JENNIE M. CAMPBELL was born May 10, 1910 in Fir, Montgomery Co., AR, to Thomas Newton Campbell and Minnie Watson Campbell. She was the youngest of eight children, 4 brothers and 3 sisters of whom all are deceased. She was united in marriage to Delton Powell on Dec. 27, 1927 in Joplin, Montgomery County, AR.
Jennie and Delton moved to Oklahoma City, OK in the early 40's for employment opportunities at the Douglas Plant in Midwest City, but Jennie's real employment interest was retail. She loved her work at OK Tire & Supply, Brown's Dry Goods in Britton and John A. Brown Dept. Store. Following Delton's death in 1971, she married Howard W. Powell of Walters, OK on Nov. 19, 1973 in OKC. Howard preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1991. She moved from the farm west of Walters to Rivermont Retirement Community in Norman in July, 1993 and made her home there for 14 yrs. She was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church in Grandfield, OK.
She was called home by her Heavenly Father at the Midwest City Nursing Center on Sat. evening, Aug. 25, 2007.
She is survived by her cousin, Dorothy Sneed of Bethany; two step-daughters, Nancy and Claire Powell of Midwest City; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Wed., Aug. 29, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at Hoppings Cemetery, Wayne, OK, with Elder Mike Hughes officiating.

WICHITA, KA–JOHN WILLIAMSON, 66, of Mount Ida, Ark., formerly of Wichita, retired parole agent, former pastor and rehabilitation counselor, Ouachita Heights Canoe Rentals owner, died Friday, July 9, 1993. Wake service 6 p.m. Sunday, Rocky Shoals Canoe Rental Service, rural Mount Ida.
Survivors: wife, Marilyn; sons, John P. of Canoga Park, Calif., Timothy of Mount Ida; daughter, Janet Hickman of Mount Ida; brothers, John F. of Mount Ida, William of Whidbey Island, Wash.; sisters, Lillian Vincent of Little Rock, Ark., Mary Mueller of Fall River; stepsister, Hazel Ward of Wichita; two grandchildren.
