(Stanley) TUSZYNSKI, Margaret WILLIAMS, Mrs. Marion FORT WORTH, TX - EDDIE B. BEGGS, 84, a retired automobile mechanic, died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, in Fort Worth. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Eddie B. Beggs was born Nov. 27, 1914, in Prairie County, Ark. He was the best father ever and a real fighter. He worked for Charlie Hillard Ford for 15 years. Survivors: Sons, James Beggs, Tommy Beggs and David Beggs, all of Fort Worth, Henry Beggs of Kilgore and Leon Beggs of Mansfield; daughters, Judy Seeders of Fort Worth and Mary Rugs of Worcester, Mass.; brothers, Huey Beggs of Fort Worth and Melvin Beggs of Des Arc, Ark.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Verner Irwin Burks Jr., an
architect for many years in St. Louis, died Thursday (Feb. 12, 1998) at
the Good Samaritan Home of complications from Alzheimer's disease. He
was 74 and a longtime resident of the Central West End.
Mr. Burks was born in Prairie County, Ark. He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and served as a staff sergeant in the Army in World War II. He received the Bronze Star for participation in the European theater. After the war, he earned a degree in architecture from Washington University. From 1955 to 1978, he was a partner at Burks and Landberg Architects here. After that, for 17 years, he owned Burks Associates, Architects & Planners. He retired in 1996. Some of his projects included the renovation of the Shell Building downtown and the redesign and renovation at the New Cathedral of St. Louis, including the main organ case and the completion of the interior mosaics. He also designed and supervised installation of the Mosaic Museum in the Cathedral's lower level. In 1970, he received a special honor from the Guild of Religious Architecture for the renovation of Christ Church Cathedral. He was a past president of the Landmarks Association of St. Louis; a past chairman of the Landmarks and Urban Design Commission and of the condemnation committee of the St. Louis Board of Building Appeals; a past co-chairman of the Old Post Office Landmarks Committee; and a past vice president of the Campbell House Foundation. He was also a former junior warden at Christ Church Cathedral. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ Church Cathedral, 13th and Locust streets. The body was cremated. IL - Bertha ''Polly'' Davis, 65, of DeValls Bluff, Ark., died
Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at Stuttgart Regional Medical Center in
Stuttgart, Ark.
Born Oct. 11, 1936, in Macomb, she married Herbert Gene Davis. He survives. Also surviving are two brothers, James W. Miller and Howard ''Luke'' Miller, both of Macomb; and one sister, Kaye Miller of San Diego. She worked at the Tobacco Store in Hazen, Ark. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dodsworth-Piper Wallen Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Benton, MO--Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Richards, 71, of Benton died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 27, 1936 in DeValls Bluff, Ark., daughter of Harold and Vina Lomax Haynes. She and Larry L. Richards were married Sept. 26, 1958. Liz was an administrative assistant for 25 years at Sells Rest Home in Matthews, Mo. Survivors include her husband of 49 years; a son, Larry Bryan Richards of Tamarac, Fla.; a daughter, Cindy Richards of Benton; Paul Massa of Tamarac, Donna Cole of Benton; two sisters, Margaret (Bud) Dock of Sikeston, MO, Dorothy Shell of Benton; brothers and sisters-in-law, R. L. and Jeno Richards and Barbara and Jay Box, all of Sikeston; as well as many other close relatives and Bingo friends. She was a member of Sikeston Chapter 137 Order of Eastern Star. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Eastern Star rites will be held at 7:30. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007 at the chapel with Kathy Hobbs of Scott City officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston. LINCOLN, IL - LOLA H. RICHARDSON, 74, of Overland, Mo., formerly of Lincoln, died at 6:45 p.m. Monday (March 5, 1990) at Metropolitan Hospital, St. Louis. Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Holland & Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, the Rev. Van Frownfelter officiating. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Richardson was born Sept. 17, 1915, in Prairie County, Ark., a daughter of James T. and Lula Morgan Stanley. She married Earl Richardson April 6, 1939, in Des Arc, Ark. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Linda Sullivan, Overland, Mo., and Christine Hainline, Pittsfield, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one brother and three sisters. Mrs. Richardson was a former employee of Stetson China Co. in Lincoln. She retired as a Lincoln Developmental Center technician. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Lincoln. --Pantagraph, The (Bloomington, IL) - March 7, 1990 TAMPA, FL--MARGARET TUSZYNSKI, 80, of Tampa died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Prairie County, Ark., she moved to Tampa in 1935 from Arkansas. She was a homemaker, and helped build and operate Camp Nebraska. She is survived by a son, William Jr. of Fayetteville, Ga.; two brothers, Eugene L. Copeland and Carl Scheef, both of Tampa; six grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Mrs. Williams was born in Prairie County, Ark., the daughter of Daniel L. and Lugenia Haire. She was a member of Church of the Living God C.W.F.F. and the mission department. She married Joel C. Williams in 1933. Surviving are her daughter, Evangelist Ozona Page and husband Marion of Decatur, two granddaughters, one grandson, five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Owens of Clinton.
