“BUD” COY, 92, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at
Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Rev. Jeff Light officiating. Private
inurnment services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Coy died Sunday, Jan. 8, 1995, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. He was born Nov. 8, 1902, in Scott County, Ark., the son of John and Fay Clover Coy. He had been a resident of Lawrence since 1928. He graduated from Ottawa High School. He worked for the DeSoto State Bank, then worked for the First National Bank in Lawrence for 23 years. He then went into the real estate business with Warren-Decker. In 1965, Decker-Coy merged and became the Landreth, McGrew and Johnson firm. He was with that firm until his retirement in 1977. Mr. Coy was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence and at various times was an elder, deacon and treasurer. He was a member Acacia Lodge No. 9 A.F. & A.M., where he held the offices of secretary and treasurer. He was past treasurer of Lawrence United Fund and was a member of University Club and Alvamar Golf Club. He married Gertrude Wilon Wilson on June 7, 1928, in Lawrence. She died Aug. 9, 1983. He later married Thelma Davison in Portia, Ark. She survives at the home. Other survivors include a sister, Hazel Toles, Portia, Ark. The family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence or the American Cancer Society, sent in care of of the mortuary. --Lawrence Journal-World (KS) - January 9, 1995 ![]()
Rosemary E. Funston, 69, of Modesto died Wednesday at Evergreen
Convalescent Hospital. Mrs. Funston was a native of Scott County, Ark.
She lived in Modesto for 12 years. She was a restaurant owner for 24
years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Tulsa, Okla.
She is survived by her brothers, Amos Terry of Ceres, Leon Terry of
Salida, Clarence Terry of Meeker, Okla. and Deon Terry of McAlester,
Okla. A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at Lakewood
Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m.

![]() YANTIS, TX - EVELYN MARIE HOOKS, a homemaker, died of cancer Monday at a Fort Worth hospital. She was 59.
Funeral was Wednesday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home. Burial was in Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Mrs. Hooks was born in Scott County, Ark., and had lived in Yantis for 10 years. She was a member of Bisbee Baptist Church. Survivors: Husband, Gene Hooks of Yantis; son, Jack Hooks of Mansfield; two daughters, Della Burks of Venus and Janice Neel of Alvarado; sister, Jenell Schmidt of Texarkana, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. --Fort Worth Star-Telegram (TX) - October 7, 1994 ![]() FORT WORTH, TX - ERMA MC NATT, 85, died Monday at a Bedford hospital. Funeral: 11 a.m. today at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Erma McNatt was born Sept. 8, 1910, in Scott County, Ark. She lived in Fort Worth since 1935. She was a wife and mother and was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Cecil O. McNatt, in 1987. Survivors: Two daughters, June Dalton and Gail Wright, both of Denton; brother, Loy Sessions of Borger; three sisters, Roma Lee Abernathy of Las Vegas, Nev., Desi Bales of Borger and Jean Mitchum of Arkansas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Sanders was born in Alamogordo, N.M., and had lived in Fort Worth for most of his life. Survivors: Wife, Debra Sanders of Fort Worth; daughter, Christina Sanders of Fort Worth; father, Daniel Sanders of De Queen, Ark.; mother, Perinell Ward of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Daniel Sanders Jr. of Texarkana, Bowie County, and Warren Sanders of Horatio, Ark.; sister, Dareatha Eulberg of De Queen; and grandparents, Warren and Virginia Sanders of Alamogordo. --Fort Worth Star-Telegram (TX) - June 30, 1992 ![]() Mrs. Starling was a native of Scott County, Ark. Hospital. Mr. Yowell was a native of Scott County, Ark. He lived in Sonora 10 years. He was a machinist for ITI for 29 years. He was a member of Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Yowell of Sonora; children, Roger Yowell of Fairview, Texas, and Gary Yowell of St. Peters, Mo.; brothers, John Yowell of Buena Park and T.J. Yowell of Fairview, Texas; sisters, Katherine McDonough of La Habra, Mary Lou Cook of Chickasha, Okla., Ruth Lemond of Weatherford, Texas, andEdwina Kilpatrick of Houma, La.; and eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Church of Christ.
