Van Buren County Arkansas Genealogy Trails

John Eldon Fulks was born July 10, 1915 in Morganton, Van Buren County, to the late R. A. & Sarah Ellen (Hunt) Fulks. His son, Joe Fulks & five brothers also preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army veteran, WW II, retired mail carrier, and he was a member of the Colony Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Freeda (Linn) Fulks; two sons, Robert (Roxanne) Fulks of Bee Branch, & David (Sharon) Fulks of Ocala, FL; daughter-in-law, Polly Fulks of Bee Branch; two grandsons, and a great-granddaughter. His funeral service was performed on Monday, July 3 at the Colony Church of Christ, officiated by Junior Thomason & Junior Manes, with burial in the Colony Cemetery. Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton was in charge of arrangements.

Heber Springs, AR - WAYNE AMBROSE FULKS, 84, passed away August 20, 2007. He was born May 12, 1923 in Van Buren County, AR, the son of the late Zola I. Fulks and J. B. Fulks. He was a service manager for Bluff City Buick Company, a U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Shipman Fulks of Heber Springs; a daughter, Linda Fulks Phelps of Heber Springs; five grandchildren, Ronald Phelps and wife, Shannon of Heber Springs, Lindsay Fulks of Memphis, TN, Robert Phelps and wife, Keli of Heber Springs, Holly Fulks Pearson and husband, William of Memphis, TN, and Austin Faglier of Memphis, TN; five great-grandchildren, and many friends. Besides his parents, Mr. Fulks was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Scott Fulks. Visitation hours will be Wednesday, August 22 from 5-8 p.m. at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 23 at the funeral home, with Dr. David Bush officiating. Interment will follow in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by: Heber Springs Funeral Home.
