MODESTO, CA--DOVIE PENNINGTON--April 18, 1908 -- May 12, 1996--Dovie Pennington, 88, of Modesto died Sunday at Memorial Hospital, Bakersfield.  Mrs. Pennington was a native of Van Buren County, Ark. She lived in the Modesto area 55 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of General Baptist Church of Modesto. She is survived by her children, Gerald Pennington of Bakersfield and Alan Pennington of Orlando, Fla.; brothers, O.T. Raymer of Fresno, Adrian Raymer of Arizona and Curtis Raymer of New Mexico; sisters, Euna Pike of Modesto, Pansy Boone of Indiana, Hazel Westfall of Missouri, and Jewell Davis of Arkansas; and six grandchildren.  A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
