--Another Bell Elector out for Breckinridge.Col. J. H. Patterson, of Augusta, Arkansas, who was appointed an assistant elector on the Bell ticket, has written a letter to the Augusta Standard, declining to serve in that capacity, and says he shall support Breckinridge and Lane, as he says they are planted upon a plat form that “will admit of no double construction as to what the rights of the South are under the constitution.

--The Woodruff County fair promises to be a success.  It will be held at Augusta in October.  
--Mr. Thompson, living near Augusta, was bitten some weeks ago by a mad dog and died last Saturday in great agony.  Source:  LITTLE ROCK DAILY REPUBLICAN, Sept. 2, 1873, contributed by Frances Cooley.
 

--McCROY DOCTOR CONVICTED IN FEDERAL COURT--
Dr. Robert Lee Fraser of McCroy, former Woodruff county judge, was convicted in Federal court in Helena last Thursday night of five counts a nine count charge of using the mails to defraud. The jury deliberated six hours.  Dr. Fraser was alleged to have advertised through the mails a certain vitamin preparation that would cur many illnesses.  The government contended that the so-called medicine was worthless.   Source: DeWitt Era-Enterprise, March 19, 1942, Vol. 59, Page 4, contributed by Linda Rodriguez.
