John David Boyer of Orland,CA. was killed on the way home from a Boy Scouts hiking trip.Feb. 17, 1951.  He was hit by a car . He was dead on the way to the Glenn County Hospital in Willows, California. We lived in Orland, Ca, in the Glenn Haven County Home.  He is buried in he Catholic Cemetery outside  of town. Andrew Foster succumbs at 78
Orland-Funeral services were held at 2 pm, yesterday for Andrew Foster of Orland who died at the age of 78 in Enloe Hospital in Chico. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on January 7, 1898. He was a resident of Orland on Co., Rd. DD west of Orland was a retired worker for the county of Glenn. He worked on an Orland chicken ranch since his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Foster of Orland; five sons, Leland Foster of Sacramento, Buster Foster of Yuba City, Bob Foster of Sacramento, Clifford McCormack of Vacaville, and Merle McCormack of Esparto; six daughters, Virginia Branan of San Jose, Peggy Wall of Orland, Norma Celand and Barbara Martin of Woodland, Olga Borders of Orland, and Opal Conger; and 23 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at F.D. Sweet and Son of Orland. Burial was held at Colusa Graveyard.

DEATH COMES BEFORE WEALTH SHE EXPECTED
Woman Oil Speculator, Well Known in Glenn County, Dies in Portland. WILLOWS, March 14. — Word has been received here from Portland that Mrs. Emma J. Jenkins died several days ago in that city while undergoing an operation. She was secretary of the Washington-California Oil Company, one of whose wells is situated ten miles west of Willows. Many people in this part of the State had aided her in the work of prospecting in this county. She spent her fortune endeavoring to tap a flow she was convinced existed in the foothills of western Glenn County. [San Francisco Call, Volume 97, Number 106, 15 March 1905.Submitted by R. Richest Man in Glenn Dies.
Willows.-J. R. Talbot, the largest landowner and wealthiest man in Glenn county, died at his home near Willows of paralysis. He was a native of Missouri and 81years of age. He settled in this county many years ago. He leaves an estate valued at $500,000. [Sausalito News, Volume 22, Number 4, 27 January 1906. Submitted by R. Greenlund.]

MRS. S.H. TURMAN
 DIES WILLOWS,- May. 29.— Mrs. Susan H. .Turman, prominent in Glenn county, died yesterday at her home at Athena, near here. She left a husband and the following children: J.M. Nye and Miss Amelia E. Nye of Glenn county; Mrs. Millicent Merriwether of Oakland; Mark Nye and Mrs. A.L. Porter of Berkeley. Funeral services were held at Willows today.
