Two Men Drowned
Special to the Gazette
Jamestown, Cal., July 10-
Jesse Vann and Edward Anderson of Westport, Mendocino county, were
drowned in Leland Pond this morning while swimming. It is supposed
that one was taken with cramps and that the other attempted to
res[c]ue him, as cries of distress were head, but both men had gone
down for the last time when those who responded reached the scene.
