Henry McCormick of St. Helena, Napa county, while out
hunting near that town, September 11th, accidentally
shot himself in the left side. The wound was not a fatal
one, but the shock of the discharge threw him backward,
falling on his head, producing concussion of the brain,
from which he died in a few hours.
