John Heerander, or "Dutch John" an old boathouse-keeper of San Diego, conspicuous for his eccentricities in dress and manners, died on Sunday night.
John's dog "Spot", his inseparable companion for may years, had died on Saturday and the people believe that it was grief over his 4 footed friend that killed him.

Robert E. Houk, Jr., 79, of San Diego died Saturday. He was born in San Diego and was a driver for the U.S. Postal Service. He served in the Army and the navy and was a veteran of the Koran War.
He was a member of Heartland lodge and Order of the White Shrine.
Survivors include his wife, Golda Houk and brother George Houk of Florida.
