Named for  John H. Crowley
Seat  Ordway
Largest town  Ordway

Created out of the northern portions of Otero County, which were both previously parts of Bent County.
It was named for the Senator to the State Legislature from Otero County, John Crowley

Cheyenne Native Americans were the main previous inhabitants of the area.
