This is the least densely
populated of the 64 counties of the State of Colorado, having a
population of only 843 in the 2010 census.
The county seat and the only municipality in the county is the Town of Lake City.
Hinsdale County is named for George A. Hinsdale, a prominent pioneer and former Lt. Governor of Colorado.
The area is very remote, being covered with mountains and having very few roads.
That means it's going to be tough to
research in this county.... we'll do what we can, but there's just not
going to be a lot of data available.
