The funeral
service over the remains of Eugene Cowan were
conducted at 8:30 last night at the home of the
deceased by the Rev. J. W. Ellsworth. The remains
were taken to Greenville, N. Y., this
morning on the 8 o’clock train from Waterbury for
interment. The pall-bearers were from Centennial
Lodge, I.O.O.F. and were: Archie Egan, A. D.
Hubbell, John Fox, Christian May, W. B. Hall and
Oscar Van Siclen. All but Messrs. Van Siclen and
Hall accompanied the remains to their last resting
place.

John Salvice,
40, was instantly killed at the factory of the Coe
Manufacturing company yesterday while at work at
his machine. Salvice was an experienced wire
drawer, and while endeavoring to remove a coil
from his block the coil caught in the shalting and
encircling Salvice’s left arm with great force cut
it off and drew the man’s head with such force
against his machine that his skull was fractured.
Death resulted instantly.

Richard Sullivan, 56, died this morning at about ?>4 o’clock at her
home on Beebe
street. She leaves
a husband, one son, Martin Sullivan, and three
daughters, Miss Catherine Sullivan, Mrs. Margaret
Lawlor and Mrs. Peter Burgess. The
funeral will be held Sunday afternoon. The hour
of the funeral will be mentioned
tomorrow.
The funeral
of Mrs. Richard Sullivan will take place tomorrow
afternoon at 3:30 from her late residence on

street, and at

o’clock from St. Francis church. Interment

The
funeral of Mrs. Richard Sullivan took place
yesterday afternoon from St. Francis church, and
the number of carriages which followed the hearse
to the grave was the largest seen in Naugatuck in
several years and showed that the decease was held
in high esteem. The
services at the church were conducted by the Rev.
Father Sheridan. Interment was in St. Francis
cemetery.
The pallbearers were: James
Patterson, Patrick Deegan, Jeremiah Dunn, Michael
Dalton, Michael Reidy and John
Hearns.

Twitchell.
Lavinia, wife
of Homer Twitchell, died this morning at her home
on Main street,
Union
City, aged 73 years. She
has been an invalid for several years, but her
death was rather sudden. She was born in
South Coventry,
her maiden name being Lavinia Mason and she was
married to Mr. Twitchell about 41 years ago. Since
her marriage she has resided in Naugatuck, and by
her kindly and pleasant disposition endeared
herself to all who knew her. The news of her death
was received with great surprise and sadness by
her many friends. Homer Twitchell, her husband, is
in Melrose, Fla. He has been
telegraphed for. Beside her husband, Mrs.
Twitchell leaves one son, Frank M. Twitchell, who,
in company with his father, manufactures safety
pins and umbrella ties at their factory on
Main
street, Union
City. The funeral will
probably take place Tuesday afternoon. The funeral
services will be conducted by the Rev. Sherrod
Soule. Interment will be in Grove
cemetery.
