Will of Jacobus Hinds, 1786, Book M, pages 183, 184
In the Name of God AMen
I Jacobus Hinds of the hundred and County of New Castle, Farmer being Sick in body but of sound disposing Mind and Memory and knowing that all mankind is Mortal and that we must return to dust from which we came but knowing that I have an immortal Soul which I know shall rise again by and through the Merits of a just Redeeming Saviour Jesus Christ In whose Blood I rely upon for the pardon of all my former sins..I now denominate and constitute this my last Will and Testament in Mannor and form following . . .
Itam first I desire that I shall be decently Interred whare my Executor shall think proper and after my just debts Doctar and funeral Charges is paid I give and bequeath my worldly Goods as follows Itam, I give and bequeath my loving Wife Mary Hinds one third part of my Real and personal estate and the choice of one out of all my milks Cows. Itam I give and bequeath to the Childring of my Body Jacob Hynds Isaac Hinds Alice Hinds and Henry Hinds all the remainder of my whole Estate both Real and Personal only Excepted as follows, That my Executors shall pay out of my estate unto my two grand childring Elizabeth and John the Childring of my daughter Alice Hinds five pounds to each of them to be paid unto the Mother of the said Childring or to there Gardiens and further I desire that my whole estate Shall be devided as I have bequeath the same and that thare shall not be any charge brought into form or against any one of my Childring or against the other and this I do nominate as my last Will and Testiment Disanulling and disallowing all former Wills by me maid to be void making this my last Will and appointing in and under this Will my loving son Jacob Hinds and my loving son Henry Hinds my whole and sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament making void all others Signed sealed pronounced Declared and delivered by and before and in the presence of the subscribers.

Personally appeared Alexander Montgomery one of the subscribing Evidences to the foregoing Will and on oath doth say he see & heard Jacobus Hinds sign, seal, publish, pronounce & declare the foregoing Instrument of writing as his last Will & Testament & that at the time of his so doing & saying he was (to the best of his belief) of sound and disposing mind and memory that he did sign his name as evidence thereto at his request in his presence & in the presence of Daniel Turner whom he see sign as one other Evidence at the same time In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand at New Castle this Tenth day of February AD 1786 Jun (?) Bedford Regstr

Memo: That Letters Testamy on the estate Jacobus Hinds decd were granted unto Jacob & Henry Hinds Exors: in the same Will named they being sworn well & truly to execute the same and return an Inven-tory on or before the Tenth day of August next and render an Account of their admin: when lawfully required. Given under my hand this tenth day of February AD 1786 Jun (?) Bedford Regstr
