AACHMANN, NIELS T., 79, of New Port Richey, died Thursday (March 4, 2004) at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. Born in Denmark, he came here 11 years ago from Algonquin, Ill. He was a self-employed stone mason and a Danish Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Brick and Stone Masons Local 18, Waukegan, Ill., and Masonic Lodge AF & AM, Cary, Ill. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; two stepsons, Bryan Gibour, Old Saybrook, Conn., and David Gibour, Winthrop Harbor, Ill.; a sister, Asta , Denmark; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.Michels and Lundquist Funeral Home, New Port Richey.
ADAMS, NELLE, 85, of Weeki Wachee, died Saturday (July 24, 2004) at Spring Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Springfield, N.C., she came here four years ago after spending 10 years in Lakeland and 48 years in Orlando. She was a bookkeeper, an ordained Presbyterian Elder and a member of Lake Hollingsworth Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading and square dancing. Survivors include a son, Thomas, Jasper, Ga.; two daughters, Sandra Durrett of Murphy, N.C., and Marjorie Denner, Weeki Wachee; a sister, Ellen Boozer, Newberry, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. FULFORD, JASON AARON, 33, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday (Jan. 25, 2006) at home. He was a lifelong resident of St. Petersburg. Survivors include his mother, Pamela Sweet, St. Petersburg; his father, Fred, California; a brother, Fred C., St. Petersburg; his maternal grandmother, Gladys Sweet, Largo; and his paternal grandmother, Violet Larson-Adkins, St. Petersburg. LEINBACH, ALICE, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (Dec. 21, 2006) at home. She was born in Lancaster, Pa., and came here in 1946 from Reading, Pa. For over 50 years she was the medical office manager for her late husband, Dr. Irwin "Mike" Leinbach. She sponsored a class at Perkins Elementary School for 13 years and was a member of Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ. She also volunteered at the St. Petersburg Police Department for several years. Survivors include three daughters, Jenni Adams-Sinaikin, New Smyrna Beach, Judy Meserve, St. Petersburg, and Troy Kassing, Indianapolis; her caregiver, Laura Shields, St. Petersburg; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. PARR, MARGARET W., 86, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (Jan. 13, 2004) at home under hospice care. Born in Nashua, N.H., she came here in 1988 from Connecticut, where she was an assembler for the Duo-Light Corp. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle. SCHUKNECHT, ELMER W., 83, of Brooksville, formerly of New Port Richey, died Monday (March 22, 2004) at Heartland of Brooksville. Born in Detroit, he came to the Brooksville area 12 years ago from New Port Richey. He was an aircraft mechanic employed by United Airlines and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a son, Ted, Dade City; four daughters, Peggy Allen, Brooksville; Charlotte Turk, Apalachicola; Bonnie Balog, Houghton Lake, Mich.; and Miriam Murray, Kennesaw, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. SHERTZER, WILLIAM GREGORY, 65, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (Jan. 11, 2004) at Bay Pines VA Medical Center. Born in Frostburg, Md., he came here in 1994 from Reno, Nev. He retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Co, where he was a union negotiator. He was an Army veteran. He was a Moose and was president of the Pinewood Village Mobile Home Association and was active in youth football associations and was a referee for 29 years. Survivors include his wife, Jane; three sons, Chris Shertzer, Frederick, Md., David Weidmann, St. Petersburg, and Joseph Weidmann, Dunedin; a daughter, Teresa Lopez, St. Petersburg; two brothers, John and James, and a sister, Mary Theresa Kallmeyer, all of Frederick; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. STROME, OTTO R. "BUD," 89, of New Port Richey, died Sunday (Jan. 30, 2005) at home. He was born in Fairfield, Ohio and came here 35 years ago from Fairborn, Ohio. He was a World War II Army veteran and a retired aircraft mechanic at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He was a member of NARFE and the First United Methodist Church of New Port Richey. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ruth; a son, William, Waynesville, Ohio; a daughter, Judith Gessell, New Port Richey; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. TRUDEAU, CEDRIC THOMAS "TOM," 89, of Spring Hill, died Sunday (Jan. 30, 2005) in Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. Born in Middlebury, Vt., he came here in 1978 from Cape Cod, Mass. He was a retired Framingham police officer and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member and usher at St. Theresa Catholic Church. He was a Knight of Columbus Fourth Degree 6283. He was a past exalted ruler Brooksville Elks Lodge. He was a member of the VFW 10209, Irish American Society and Coast Guard Auxiliary 158 Hernando Beach. Survivors include three sisters, Cecile Pine, Shelburne, Mass., Eleanor Currier, Greenfield, Mass., and Martha Cormie, Gill, Mass.; several nieces and nephews. YANTSIOS, NICHOLAS "NICK," 89, of Spring Hill, formerly of Port Richey, died Monday (Aug. 1, 2005) in Windsor Woods Convalescent Center under the care of Gulfside Regional Hospice in Hudson. He was born in New York City and moved to Port Richey in 1984 from New York City, recently moving to Spring Hill. He was a retired bottler with Pepsi Cola with 30 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was of the Greek Orthodox faith. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ruth; a son, Nicholas A., Spring Hill; and two grandchildren. Thomas B. CLEARWATER - Don D. Cochran Sr., one of the founding members of the Clearwater Yacht Club, died Thursday (Oct. 1, 1987) at Highland Pines Nursing Center. Clearwater. He was 95.
Mr. Cochran moved to Clearwater in 1904 from his native Hodges, S.C., and in 1920 moved to 509 Nicholson St., Clearwater, which became his permanent address.
He was the owner and operator of Don Cochran Plumbing Co. in Clearwater from 1918 until 1982.
His first plumbing job in 1918 was the Coachman Building, which is now the NCNB Building on the southeast corner of Fort Harrison Avenue and Cleveland Street in downtown Clearwater. He also worked on the Fort Harrison Hotel in downtown Clearwater, the Belleview Biltmore and the Safety Harbor Spa.

Mr. Cochran was one of the founding members of the Clearwater Yacht Club. He served as vice commodore and won many Snipe Class Regatta Championships. Piloting his boat, the Blue Nose II, he was fleet champion at the yacht club for several years. He won several Midwinter International regattas in Clearwater and three consecutive Southeastern Snipe Regattas in Charleston, S.C. from 1938 to 1940. He was also the state regatta champion for several years in the early 1940s, winning his titles in the annual regattas held in Tampa.
One of his sons, James W., won the National Junior Regatta Snipe Championship in 1935, and one of his grandsons, Bruce C, won the same junior championship in 1960.
Surviving him are three sons, Don Jr., Clearwater, James W., Largo, and Charles R., Tampa; five grand-children, including Bruce C, and four great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made to the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch.
Funeral services will be held for family members only. Rhodes & Wice Funeral Directors, Druid Chapel, Clearwater, is in charge of arrangements.
