Jarrette E. Benford

Jarrette E. Benford "Jack" of Forsyth, GA., age 68, died Saturday, January 11, 2003. 

Funeral services will be 11A.M., Tuesday, January 14, 2003 in the Chapel of Monroe County Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Cannon officiating. Burial will be private. 

Visitation will be 7:00 until 9:00P.M., Monday, January 13, 2003, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. 

Mr. Benford was born in Murray County. He was the son of the late Jarrette Allen Benford and Lena Baggett Benford. 

Mr. Benford was a retired Major with the Department of Natural Resources. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Benford was a member of First Methodist Church in Chatsworth, Georgia and a past president for the Peace Officers Association of Georgia. 

Mr. Benford is survived by his wife: Barbara Weems Benford of Forsyth; children, Jarrette Allen Benford and Cynthia and Jim Flanigan of Forsyth; sister and brother-in-law: Mary Jo and Mack Dobbs of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren: Christopher Jarrette Allen Benford of Campbellsville, KY, Tyler Casey Flanigan, Jaime Elizabeth Flanigan and Dillon Patton Flanigan of Forsyth. 

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to The Peace Officers Association of Georgia, PO Box 1040, Reidsville, GA 30453. 

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
