Annice Strawn Corbett

Annice Strawn Corbett, age 102, of Alvin, Texas, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006, at Evening Star Personal Care, Alvin, Texas. 

Annice was born on July 7, 1903, in Chatsworth, Georgia, and was a resident of Alvin for 63 years. She was a homemaker, an exemplary mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a member of Westside Church of Christ. 

Annice was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William "Bill" Corbett; parents, George and Nannie Strawn; son, William Corbett Jr.; three sisters; and two brothers.

Annice is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Rogan of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Jeanelle Moser, Michael Rogan, Sheila Rogan and W.C. Corbett III; six great-grandchildren, Brenden, Trenten, Jacob, Rena, William and Cody; numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Scott Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2006, at Westside Church of Christ with Rayford Welch and Ralph Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Southpark Cemetery, Pearland, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Corbett, Mike Rogan, Jeff Moser, Hilliard Smith, Charlie Dumas, Charles Huey, Daryl Swenson, Johnny Talbut and Johnny Goode.

Annice loved her church family and their visits during her last few years. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Norma and Johnny Talbut, the owners of Evening Star Personal Care, for providing such a caring environment. "Miss Annice" loved the staff and other residents and often remarked on how happy she was there.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to: Westside Church of Christ, P.O. Box 1240, Alvin, Texas 77512 or charity of choice.
