Laura "Davis" Dean Laura Davis Dean--Her sunrise was on April 4, 1911, in Carters, Georgia. Her sunset was on Sunday, October 27, 2002, at her home in Knoxville, Tenn., at the age of 91. She was a member of Rogers Memorial Baptist Church and participated in duties at the church, which included the Widow's Circle and the Missionary. She was a faithful member until her health begin to fail. She is preceded in death by her loving family: her parents, William and Caroline Davis, husband, Boyd Dean, three children, Katherine, Donald, and Fred Dean, two brothers, Hugh and William Davis, two sisters, Pauline Griffin and Ossie Dean. She will always be cherished by her loving family: sister-in-law, Lillie Dean of Chattanooga, Tenn., eight grandchildren, a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces (also great) nephews (also great), and last but certainly not least, her loving and devoted caregiver, Beth Petty. Laura Davis Dean was always an angel in disguise. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2002, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at Rogers Memorial Baptist Church, Rev. Michel S. E. Caldwell, officiating. Entombment, Saturday, November 2, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. in Highland South Cemetery. Arrangements by Unity Mortuary.
