Claudia Cox Maxwell

Claudia Cox Maxwell, 78, of Tallahassee died Wednesday.

The service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church, with burial at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at 602 Ingleside Ave. and in the church fellowship hall following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to TMH Foundation, Leon County Public Library or to a favorite charity.

A native of Chatsworth, Ga., she had lived in Tallahassee since 1974. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare for 25 years. She was a member of Tallahassee Women's Club, Questers and the Retired Officers Wives Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Sally Maxwell Matthews of Thomasville, Ga., and Sharon Maxwell-Ferguson of Tallahassee; and six grandchildren, Colin Maxwell Savage, Derek Chester Ferguson, Eliot L. Ferguson, Nora Irene Matthews, Heather Savage Telfer, and Megan Louise Ferguson .
