Ray Archie Murphy

Ray Archie Murphy, 84 of Denton died Wednesday, March 07, 2007 at Senior Care Center of Denton. 

He was born December 28, 1922 in Copperhill, TN to Joseph Andrew Murphy and Flora Mae Raper Murphy. 

He graduated from Etowah High School and National School of Business in Cleveland, TN.

 He married Florence Adams in Chatsworth, GA on Dec. 1, 1945. She preceded him in death. 

He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and worked for the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant in Lawrence, KS.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 8, 2007 from 6 - 7 p.m., at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Service will be Friday, March 9, 2007 at 2 p.m., at the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Terry Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

He is survived by daughters, Theresa and husband Jimmy Little of Denton, Lorieca Clark of Lewisville; son, Ray Archie Murphy, Jr. and wife Rae of Denton; sister, Velma Demase of Shelbyville, TN; brother, Elmer Murphy of Etowah, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer Deal, Becky Morales, Kim Malone, David Clark, Chester Ray Clark, Matthew Clark, Shawn Murphy, Ray Archie Murphy III, Michael Murphy; and ten great grandchildren.
