Mrs. Willie Loraine Akins Mell

Mrs. Willie Loraine Akins Mell, age 78 of LaFollette, passed away Friday, July 29, 2005 at the Sunbridge Nursing Home. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lillie Jones, brothers; Prince Jones and Clarence Jones, sisters; Leah Gregory and Reba Roe, a daughter; Martha Wilson, sons; David and Robert Akins, husband; Thurman Akins, and husband; Don Mell and a great grandson, Zackary Brummitt. 

Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Hilda and Doyle Ausmus of Speedwell, Tenn., sons and daughters in law, Charles and Catherine Akins of Powahatan, Va., Andrew and Carolyn Akins of Knoxville, Anthony and Kimberly Mell of Greenback, daughter in law, Brenda Akins of Speedwell, son in law Dennis Wilson of Louisville, twenty grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sisters; Georgia Stanley of Jasper, Mary Clay Daves and Flora Mae Burns both of Chatsworth, Ga., nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church near Fairmount, Ga. with the Rev. Paul Richards and the Rev. Doyle Ausmus officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday from 6-8 p.m. Peeples Funeral Home and Crematory of Chatsworth, Ga. is in charge of the funeral arrangements
