NEGRO IDENTIFIED AS OSCAR SHIVER LOCATED IN MURRAY COUNTY AND BROUGHT TO MACON--A Negro believed to be Oscar Shiver, who is wanted here for the murder of Thomas J. Conrad at the union station three years ago, was arrested yesterday in Murray county, and brought to Macon late last night by officer Jeff Amos.  He is now in the Bibb county jail.  Several days ago Sheriff George B. Robertson learned that there was a negro in Murray county known as Joe Choice whom he believed to be the slayer of Mr. Conrad.  Sheriff Robertson immediately took steps to have him arrested.  The negro was taken into custody by Sheriff W. C. Groves, of Spring Place, and was turned over to Officer Amos.  The negro stoutly denies that he is Shiver, but it is stated that he is the slayer of Conrad.  Thomas J. Conrad, in charge of the team service of Macon Transfer Co., was shot to death about 8 o'clock Monday morning, Jan. 03, 1903, at the union passenger station by Oscar Shiver, a negro in the employ of the company.  The shooting was caused by the dissatisfaction of the negro's work and his threat to discharge him.  The negro immediately made his escape.
