Welcome to the Murray County, GA. Genealogy Trails website for the descendants of William Williams.  Anne Templeton Wilson, great granddaughter of Charles Jenkins Williams, and Leslie McNier Riney, great granddaughter of Joseph Rufus Williams are trying very hard to put together the pieces of the puzzle of this Williams clan.  We welcome all relatives or anyone who may know anything to contact us regarding any information that we can add to this site which will help tie us all together.  Click here to email both of us.  Thanks in advance, Anne and Leslie.

The Williams' home place was located in Spring Place, GA.  WILLIAM (Billie) WILLIAMS, a farmer was born 1794 in GA.  He died somewhere between 1856 and 1860.  On December 30, 1827 or January 14, 1829 he married SARAH ANN SCOTT who was born in VA before June 01, 1812 in Putnam County, GA. and died March 06, 1887 in Murray County.  We are still researching some of these dates and still searching for William's information.  Sarah's father was THOMAS W. SCOTT (b. between 1770 and 1780 in VA.) and her mother was MARTHA STOKES (born c.1780 in GA).  Record of 1860 Williams Census in Murray County, GA.  William and Sarah had the following children:

HENRY: born c.1830 in Putnam County.  He married Sarah Louise Mansfield (b. about 1842 in SC) on 26Feb1857 in Murray County.  He is buried at the Williams Family Cemetery in Chatsworth/Bull Pen, Murray County, GA.  They had the following children who were all born in GA: Thomas Williams, b.1858, Sarah J. Note: The 1860 Murray County census shows that Henry was a 30 year old farm laborer, married to Louisa who was 18.  Thomas was two years old and Sarah was one.  They lived next door to his mother Sarah and James lived on the other side of her.  All the other children from William on down were living at home with Sarah.
