Deals on Near Wardner
WALLACE, Idaho, March 1 - A deal is reported pending involving the
properties of the Army group and Bobby Anderson on Pine Creek below
Wardner. It is reported the Federal company and Bunker Hill and
Sullivan are both after them. The Army group has shown a fine showing
of galena ore. It is owned by Gus Smith of Wardner. The Bobby Anderson
also has a good showing. The latter is owned principally by Theodore
Brown of Kingston and Herman Rossi of this city.

Miner Is Injured
Dan Holcomb, Burke, was brought to a local hospital for treatment of an
injured back suffered when struck by a timber while working at the
Hecla mine.

Idaho Pioneer Dead
Edward Benjamin, a pioneer prospector of Burke, died at the hospital
here today from the effects of drinking lye. While in his cabin
yesterday he mistook a can of lye for one of cream and drank the
poison. He was 75 years old and had been a resident of the Coeur
d'Alenes for many years.

Death of Pioneer Miner
Harvey Cole, age 64 years, and a resident of the Coeur d'Alene district
a greater portion of the time since 1884, when he arrived at Eagle City
from Butte, Mont., died last week at one of the local hospitals. He had
been engaged in mining enterprises for some years.
