DROWNED IN THE SNAKE RIVER
Weiser, Idaho, June 24-Dick Miller, a balloonist,
giving a street carnival in this city, was drowned this evening in
the Snake river, about one mile from where he ascended. As he
dropped with his parachute the wind carried him to the middle of the
river. He got clear of the parachute and started to swim but had
gone a short distance when he threw up his hands, cried for help and
sank.
