Best way to narrow down the "hits" is to put the name of the county in as well, along with the surname you're looking for. Put the county name in quotes.

Thanks to Family Tree Magazine for this award...

The Best Site
which was given in recognition of the work of the dedicated hosts of
our
Illinois Trails group, who expanded to become Illinois Genealogy Trails.
And if we had known it was the last time Family Tree Magazine would give us any recognition whatsoever,
we would've been much more effusive in our thanks :-(

Anyhoo....

ALL DATA REMAINS FREE
We know that what you're looking for is data -- and we have LOTS of it right here. Our hosts work continuously to bring you fresh, interesting and NEW data (well.... as new as hundred year old data can be!!!)

If you're interested in just a specific county, you'll want to start at the
county pages

Our long list of Census transcriptions is
here

If you're looking for general Illinois info and data, our
state page and military data page have lots of good names and dates and interesting background history. Sit back, relax, and thumb through the thousands of webpages we have online. And visit us often, because we are always transcribing new data.

We thank you for your continued support!!!

Established in March of 2000, we used to be known solely as Illinois Trails and worked on transcribing only Illinois data. On March 1, 2006, we created the Genealogy Trails History Group and became known as Illinois Genealogy Trails to go along with the expansion of handling data for all 50 states.

We operate under the theory that "every little bit helps!"

We welcome any support you would care to give, whether it would be to become a webmaster for a state or county site or to send in raw data to be added to websites.
You can, as always, contact
