Franz Karl Meyer (Mayer in Germany) was born 13 March 1837 in Dörlinbach, Ettenhiem, Baden, Germany a son of Roman Mayer and Anna Mayer. He came to America in 1853 with his 3 older brothers (Thaddaus, Andrew, & Landolin) after their mother's death. Deporting from Antwerp, Belgium on the Bark N.H. From here he moved into the country in Melrose Township, where he has lived since. In 1860 (one of the first marriages performed in the newly erected St. Anthony's Catholic Church) he married Carolina Mast. Caroline was the daughter of the old pioneer Johann B. Mast and Regina Schmar. Frank's wife died August 2, 1900. A son Heinrich is a clerk in the freight house of the C.B.& Q. railroad line here. The other children all live in the County.

If you would like further information on this family, please email me. This is my great great grandfather's (Andrew) younger brother. I have extensive information on the Meyer Family.
