Gustav Meyer

Gustav Meyer was born in 1817, in Herboldsheim, Baden, came to the United States in 1842 and to Quincy in 1843. He worked for the old pioneer Johann Stöckle at Mill Creek and in 1844 married Antonia Stöckle. Gustav Meyer served as tax collector of Melrose Township and died 1870 at the age of 53. The widow as well as several sons still live.
