The Tamms Grade School consisted of two buildings. The smaller building was the lunch room and 7th and 8th grades. If you went in the front door the lunch room was to the left, the 8th grade was on the right, the 7th grade was at the back of the 8th grade. The big building to the north was sectioned off into four rooms. To the right when you went in the front was the 1st grade room and to the left was 2nd and 3rd. In the back the room on the right was 4th grade and the one on the left was 5th and 6th grades. The restrooms were outside the back room. The boys was on the south side and the girls was on the north side. Both buildings are still there and house the Tamms Shelter Care Home.
